My MK1 LD
A brown box came today from Mac1. I have been patiently waiting for my new MK1 LD to arrive. I picked up a nice Crosman Mk1 from the YF Classified (thanks Stephen!) and drove it over to Tim on a Saturday morning. When I got there it was a few minutes before he opened and he already had people hanging out chewing his ear.
I told Tim what I wanted and paid the man. Then the wait started. I then left and went to a great BBQ place near his shop that I saw on Diners Dives and Drive Thrus http://www.jaybeesbbq.com/ true memphis BBQ in L.A. it was not a little good, it was great and people where lining up as it opened. So if near Mac1 get some lunch at Jay Bee’s. I let the great pulled pork sandwich ease my pain of waiting for my custom airpistol to be completed.
4 weeks pass and my LD is ready and Tim is shipping it out. When I get a call from home that a pkg has arrived I sneak out the back door of my office and drive home only to bring the pistol back to work. As I opened the well wrapped pkg the LD was finally home. Hard to believe a pistol over 30 years old could look so new. I had Tim put on a 10″ barrel and the rest of the LD treatment. When I got home I put the BKL mount on it and a Center Point scope on, the bug buster equivalent in 6x. It took about 5 shots to get it zeroed in at 20 yards and it was hitting hard and was making one hole even with my shaky hand while I rested on a tripod.
The trigger was fine and light the weight of the gun 3.12 lbs with scope and mount balanced nicely. It was a very hard hitting gun with accuracy that was very impressive in a short time period. I have plans to craft a vented shroud to quiet it down to whisper levels. So to make a long story short….I am very happy and recommend people getting one while you can.
I also have 2240’s and 1377’s and while they are nice guns no matter what you do to them they are not in the same league as the LD. The LD feels like a quality made custom pistol and is worth every penny! Thanks Tim…as always.

I’ve been watching for one of these after i saw yours the first time a while back. Was wondering, is there an advantage to the Mark I over II? What are the differences? Am looking for a nice one and been hard to find short of paying a rediculous price for a mint collector in the box which i don’t care about. Want to do it right ya know. 😀 Thanks.
The AimX is a great pistol and perhaps one day (not anytime soon) I will get one. Although Co2 does suck in the winter…I live in the northeast too..there is something intangable about the LD to me, perhaps b/c I had the Mark 2 as a kid.
That Borock pistol you got is sure tempting.
How come they are the only one that can make a pcp pistol that is reasonable?
I think I finally filled my pistol niche with the AimX after YEARS of trying with various pistols that each got sold eventualy, But I still have a desire for an LD, even though I know only to well that CO2 SUCKS here in the winter.

Yep I am still digging it and shoot it more then any airgun I have. It is scary accurate and just amazing.
I bought another one because it is to unfair to go shooting with somebody and have them use another pistol. I have complete confidence with it to 50 yards and can hit 2″ spinner with no problem.
YOu need a rifle scope on it to extract all the accuracy
I resisted getting the hangy tank for awhile. But I shoot it so much I was getting tired of buying co2 bulbs. The real benefit is you get a few hundred shots with nice consistency.

Are you still diggin’ that LD like the day you got it? I spoke to Tim today (felt like I was talking to a celebrity…but real nice guy) and I’m ordering one of these soon. The anticipation is the worst part. My brother and I both had MK1/2 as kids (great dad 😀 ) but the cops decided to keep mine. My brother still has his..and hasn’t shot it in 20 years…he’s letting me have it for free!
I’m sceptical about a shroud b/c all the grey areas, so I thought I would get the 12″ barrel and the three baffle break..I should have this just as the weather starts to warm. And between the Talon SS and this..I am never buying another airgun…..
This one should fit nicely inside my backpack and light enough for hiking…the TalonSS is a little to heavy for longer hikes.
Nice looking LD. How many consistent shots do you get per 12g cartridge?

It is a Crosman and is called the MK1. This one is pre 1975. There are many out there and they are the best made CO2 pistol not including Olympic Match Pistols.
He takes the gun and hot rods it and accurizes it with all kinds of tricks.
I wanted one for years and now I have it. 😀
Mac1 puts a HW barrel in the Mk1 I think so thats whats in WOK’s pistol.
As far as I know, the Crosman barrels are pretty good though, I’ve certainly never had an accuracy problem and I’ve owned about 10 of them over the years.
Looks like a Luger ….cool…. black grip suits it loads more 😀 , so are the crosman barrels any good ? , as there,s a guy selling them cheap over here £30 and i need a .177 ?

No advantage to Mk1/Mk2 as the LD is made in .22cal. The Mk1/2 is just .177 cal/.22 cal. As per Tims Mac-1 post on the yellow, try looking at gun swaps/exchanges, garage sales and put ads in local papers where you get one on the cheap.
The internet savvy folks like on gunbroker, airgunforums, etc. know what they have and try to extract market value or even more. I saw one ad on ebay where they wanted $100 just for the box!! Ridiculous
