My New Mini Mill
It isnt here yet – But I have the work surface ready and I slightly rearranged my shop so the Lathe and Mill will be next to each other instead of having wood/metal tools scattered around. Mill should come tomorrow !

Well.. Here’s my first attempt. Making a small mount for my Critter cam out of two pieces of L Bracket. Picture is after cutting a splice joint into one of the pieces.

Bah, not even close. YN’s is all shiney and sparkly and stuff.
How are those vice’s working out for you guys? I bought a import Kurt clone myself and for the most part is is very nice. It isnt 100% no lift though even though it claims it.

Oh yea, I forgot to tell you. The chuck that comes with it kinds sucks and it has a lot of run out.
You might want to pick up a better chuck and spindle from LMS.

Got the call from Harbor Freight this afternoon and drove to the store, Comes in a big wooden crate with steel straps keeping it together.
Wooden sides and top removed and its surrounded in polystyrene shell

Here are the usual tools that these come with.
Once out of the crate I was able to carry it down into my basement by myself no problem. Left it on the wooden base that it comes bolted to until I get it degreased and get a base cut.
Now just have to get it all trammed and set up properly so it will be ready for Monday when the end mills and other accessories arrive.
If theres too much vibration then I’ll just move it to my workbench – Want to try this first because its a better layout and use of space for me.
Hey, YN, I’d suggest you get a sheet of 1 1/4″ concrete form material. It’s pricey, but heavy and stable, and unlike MDF, doesn’t care about liquid spills. I’d also bolt that table to the floor, I used Tapcons on my drill press, works great and I can easily remove them if I need to. Good luck.
