What length of barrel fits IN the Condor frame?
I think I want to try a shorty barrel on my Condor. I want it to be flush or just short of the end of the frame so I can use the A.F. end cap and see what kind reduction in noise that gives. Will the 18″ fit in the frame? Or do I need the 12″ ? I know I’ll lose some velocity but that’s ok.

Yeah, but if you could twist on a shroud or take it off in seconds then you would have both.
I doubt I’ll go back either, but I must say, when I took my frame extender off to take those pics I forgot how I much I liked the classic short stubby SS look. Would be awesome to have QUIET 18″ power in that package, but that’s not gonna happen eh.

Yeah, if you want short and quiet, stick with the 12 and baffle it. Personally, that pic if the 18 and endcap and Wok’s talk of his 16 and shroud has me about convinced I need the best of both worlds.
True, but it wouldn’t make much sense to have the end of the barrel that close to the cap, at least if your trying to keep it somewhat quiet.
The only reason is if quiet did not matter and your are back to a short little gun that has some real balls.

Or any barrel about 17″ and under.
Damn I wish I could just shoot my gun like this, just 1/2 inch longer than the stock SS with the barrel ending up almost perfectly flush with the end of the collar, looks perfect, but all the wishing in the world ain’t gonna make it quiet this way lol.
So, If i’m seeing and understanding this correctly, the only way an A.F. end cap fits my Condor is with a 12″ barrel.

The shroud is also 2″ shorter. If I had a 18″ barrel it would put the muzzle that much closer to the exit hole of the shroud.
The power was there. I wanted it to be quiet and a certain length.
An 18″ barrel with my 8″ shroud would be a little louder.
No, just use the set screw that is in the frame now and cut the “L” groove in the shroud. If you made the sleeve a couple inches long and an Oring at the end where it butted up against the frame it wouldnt have to be super tight.
Wok, why couldnt you use that length of shroud you have now on an 18? OAL would still be the same. I cant imagine it being much louder if at all than your 16″.
My plan was a gun around 42″ long. So the shorter barrel allowed a shorter shroud.
Now it is the exact length of my AA 410
Whens someone going to make a quick release shroud? Spring and an L shaped cutout in frame and a set screw protruding out of the shroud – inset shroud and twist 90 degree’s….. need to be pretty tight machining tho.
Crap, now Im really thinking about an 18″ in .25 cal. Anyone have one of those and what kind of performance are you seeing?
I kinda like the looks of that 18″ and end cap. You could still put a shroud on it like Tony’s and take it off when you dont care about neighbors.

Luckily I don’t need a expensive super quite shroud. My nieghbors know I shoot, and if they’re outside they hear me shoot, never a complaint at all.
For 7 bucks I got this anodized alumi tube, a freind machined the cap for free, done deal. I can remove it in seconds by just loosening the original set screw for the end cap. Sounds kinda like a nail gun maybe, no louder. I have noticed that the heavier the pellet, the louder it is. No way could I shoot without the tube though… I’d be getting complaints then lol.
