10 for 10 on pyramyd
I was looking through some airguns on pyramyd that are way out of my price range today and saw a “10 for 10” deal.
Apparently for 10 extra bucks, they will shoot 10 shots to make sure the gun works right, and they will check for leaks on pcp rifles.
That would have been awesome a while back when the condor’s weren’t working right. 😛

I think for the most part, we all are extremely happy with what AF is doing. We hack on TG, some more than others… but he has definitely been an asset to the sport. Just sometimes spews a little bull shit to make the newbies go ‘oooohhh!’ and then he gets called on it by those who know better.
As for AF, yes, I can remember a time when many of the old TOG were not so happy with them, but I think I echo most folks sentiments when I say that they have really come around as of late. I know I’ve personally dealt with them on several issues and have been extremely pleased with the results.
Gents: I very proud of you all. Those that faced off AirForce and won are to be commended. I for one benefited from your efforts. Well done.
It seems that only through your efforts, experimentation and exploration can advances be made. But let’s give the folks at AirForce their due. Without them I’d be stuck with either a springer or a Red Ryder. I prefer my Condors and Talon SS. Nice guns for what they are intended.
If I want more power or longer range I can either wait for you folks to figure out how to make it happen or I can visit my gun safe and pull a powder burner with the right specs.

At least Rob will come out and say that he has no interest in the mechanical side (which we all know isn’t true as he does a great job tuning springers himself).
The guys who THINK they have some kind of mechanical aptitude are the problem – Those guys would be ruining their guns with or without the forums being around.
haha… I’ll admit it!!! Now on springers, pumpers, CO2… I’m ok with that! HPA… not so much. I did tear down my Hornet though… almost pissed myself trying to get it back together for fear I’d dicked it up. I’m getting better on it. Have replaced a spring retainer in my Talon! woo-hoo! Still, I’m pretty green when it comes to tear down on PCP’s… I treat them like a sore pecker… I dont screw with them!

Hahaha, yeah, Mike, I’d say you poisoned the well pretty good! Oh well, I can’t envision ever needing to buy anything from them, so I don’t care what they think about “forum people”.
I’ll say this: If I’m a manufacturer of a product that modders trick out and customize and vastly improve, I’m gonna work pretty closely with those that know what they’re doing, and capitolize on it. When you befriend your customers, and advocate for them, rather than become their adversary, you create zealots that will buy anything you sell. Sure, they’ll let you know when you screw up, but they’ll reward your continued innovation and everyone will win. See also, Apple Inc.

I went through the same thing building custom mountain bike frames from scratch, I designed and built the tacking fixture, a dozen frames and my own full suspension…. Nobody believed it was mine or that it was even possible… 🙄 Makes you question the knowledge of some folks, they think since they can’t do it nobody can!!! 😕

You guys are so mean to poor old TG! Don’t you realize the new valve didn’t fix anything, it just let you fill to 3000???!! (I’d put quotes on that but I don’t have the post in front of me, that’s what he meant though!)
I can’t understand why you guys would want to fill your guns to 3000 PSI and expect multiple, consistent, full power shots…what is ya, picky or somethin’? Ya’ll ought to be happy fillin’ them things to some pressure ya’ll figure out on your own and if you get 1 or 3 full power shots before the next fill, well, that’s good enough. Nope, nothing wrong there! That newfangled valve didn’t do nothin!!!!!

At AF they are probably wondering why all these people are alway ordering parts?….LOL
They can’t even comprehend people rather fix their gun then send it in and have it sent back not fixed or fixed and them not honoring the warranty.
As for people on the forums screwing up their guns? That could be true. There are many newbies who think they are experts in this stuff. But I can not see any one with experience even thinking of sending in their gun for repair unless they have no mechanical skills at all…..(Rob)
Last time I talked to Air Force, I ordered a new Valve (Condor Valve) for the 18″ Bbl. I got chewed out by Yevette. She said basically that the forum people had no Idea what they were doing, and ruined most of their guns. Then she ask How I would ever know how to install it. I told her that they’re guns were clilds play aimple , and couldn’ understand how they could they could make them out to be so xomplicated and screw them up so badly. And continue to claim that they were just fine!
I told her that I had been Gun Smithing and Building “high Grade Custom Knives for over 30 years. When I told her my methods, she backed down. I also suggested that they invest in a bit of quality control, and even consider one those new fangled Chrony’s. I told her it was time for them to step out of the dark ages and do the job right.
I also told her that now that T G was gone, perhaps they would listen to people who have a bit more experience on making their guns do what they were advertised to do. When she ask and what is that, I said WORK!!!
I’ll probably never get any decent service from them again! 😈

Condors were shooting spot on. And there was nothing wrong with their fill pressures and valves.
THAT IS WHY THE INVENTED AND INSTALLED A NEW VALVE INTO THE CONDOR!
Once they got rid of Gaylord blowing smoke up their butts the shit hit the fan and they realized they better fix this thing or lose sales! I am positive we were a big part of the reason for them remaking that valve. We sure in hell know Gaylord had nothing to do with the valve being made. Why would he? He was telling them everything was peaches and lollipops… 😆
Guess that depends on who does the test shooting….
No shit, Gaylord claims he test shot all the AF guns before they were sent to dealers but yet there were a TON of crappy ones out there…
I wish I could do such a half assed job where I work.
Test shot them and confirmed the velocity was spot on…. without a CHRONY, no less…. better man than I.

I’m still getting my head around how he claims to have tested all the guns, but never thought it necessary to use a chronograph.
I wish I could do such a half assed job where I work.
