Q:

Wok Butt problem???

Gentle friends,

In checking stuff over for a trip to the range tomorrow, I think I have found a problem with my Wok Butt (which I otherwise like….).

It is loose on the end of the tank, although the screw is tight. I can tip the bottom end of it back and forth perhaps a 1/4 inch or side to side ten degrees or so. It looks for all the world like the supplied screw is enough longer than the factory screw that it has popped the threaded insert loose and it’s being held in by the rubber cover?

Has anyone else had this happen? Has anyone ever tried to repair this part of the tank?

TIA

Doug Owen

Rifles should be held like a woman. Lama are you listening? While held close they should not be clutched with too much force. This is true for our Condors without recoil through the 4000 ft lbs club.

I own both and I find that finess and the ability to follow through with a proper pull of the trigger preserves more than you personal sanity. It also allows the rifle to be what it is.

Bottom line; Don’t crush the damn thing against your shoulder. It doesn’t improve your aim. Just the opposite. AKULA

Don’t crush her against my shoulder. Got it.

looks like he did a little to much “gold digging” as a kid

DKO………… your post is the Main reason I never purchased a WOK BUTT. I feel The WB Knockoff’s from China are much more sturdy for a fraction of the price. I’ve saved a bunch of $$, but I still can’t read the installation instructions. 😛 😛 😆 😆

Got to be something fucked up with his sinuses. I tried that… and can’t do it. LoL.

you’re slippin’ big guy………you couldn’t find that one with a middle finger? 😛 😛 😛

I know, it is really nothing at all and it’s my bad for not getting any loctite, which I need for the Talon and other items. Just call me a picky, lazy bastard, I can take it! 😉

My only beef with the WokButt, albeit a very picky one, is the screw won’t stay tight where the curved part meets the attachment bracket… Like I said, very picky/petty.

!

Blue Loctite

I bypassed the dinky disc and made a custom stock so that NO pressure is applied to the tank whatsoever.

“I personally believe” ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww ) that many of the accuracy issues I was having were directly related to the tank adding undue force on the frame…

No force, better accuracy…

DK, you may find you need WOK’s parts that attaches the butt pad to the tank with hose clamps…! That disc is a joke!

Doug,

If you have an air compressor a quick blast will lift the cover off in about 5 seconds.

If you don’t….It sucks huh? 😀
