Nitrogen
I can get a 125ci 6000psi nitrogen tank for 4 dollar a month rental and 15 dollar refil. I looked and didnt find any info on nitrogen compared to air. Is nitrogen an acceptable and viable fill for airguns?

You will be shooting for months on that 6k tank. I still have 5100psi in mine and I got it filled in July.
If you buy the regulator WOK pointed to, be sure to follow the directions.
Set up the regulator before you attach the airgun bottle. With 6kpsi, fills happen very quickly.
Something I have done to keep the fills extremely consistent.
Set the output guage to your desired fill psi, then open the tank. Open the regulator to fill the airgun bottle. The pressure will rise to almost where you set the output guage. Once full, close the tanks valve, the output gauge will increase by just a tad and stop at your desired pressure. Vent the regulator and your set.
For whatever reason, the output seems to be about 50 psi low unless I follow the above procedure.

After careful consideration and a generous boss that gave me a full 6k nitrogen tank that was collectin dust in the corner of the warehouse. I will get that regulator for around $400. That way, I can have good pure power and none of the moisture problems that I am sure I would have being this close to the coast and I dont have to give myself a heart attack from the manual pump. 🙄

Another advantage is that it will be clean and free of humidity, which is difficult to avoid if you live in a humid climate and use a manual pump.

That is merely a fill station and does not regulate.

I am brand new to this thread, I have only recently started looking at AF guns, specifically the .22 condor (at least for the time being). I have enjoyed reading everyone’s input on all the various issues regarding these guns. I too have been wondering about nitrogen, and curious about the lack of information regarding it.
Is there any difference in the hi-flo, standard or micrometer tank when using nitrogen vs HPA?
I was thinking about getting a carbon fiber tank from airhog, and already know that a nearby paintball store will fill the tank to it’s rated capacity with either HPA or nitrogen for 1 dollar per 1k pressure. What specifically do I need as far as regulators or fittings to refill the gun tanks? What is the pressure that these tanks can even be filled to…is it 3500 (the tanks on the gun)?
I know there is a large benefit with using HPA over CO2, and a large benefit in using N2 over CO2, but what about N2 vs HPA? Is there any specific pro’s or cons concerning the two?
The tanks from airhog seem to be rated at 4500psi, but I’ve heard a few people mention 6k tanks……it seems like that would be an even larger benefit, similar to the scuba steel or aluminum vs the carbon fiber.
I’m also curious about the number of fills you can get off of a 4500psi tank….a specific number is not necessary for me to understand everything, am I correct in assuming that if a AF tank is rated at 3500psi, I can refill off of a higher psi tank until that number reaches around 3500 as well? How low can an AF tank effectively still shoot decent groups and velocities….2000psi, 2500psi?
I know this is alot of questions, but before I invest in an entire setup, I want to understand as much as I can. My plan is to get a .22 caliber setup with a shroud for normal hunting, then get a .25 caliber barrel for hunting coyotes. Does this sound like a reasonable thing?

Savage its a little larger than a full size oxygen bottle on a torch rig. there is one bit difference it definately isnt mobile. it weighs (guessing) around 250lbs. my plan is to chain it upright to a beam in my building. i shooot mostly close to my house so wont be much of an inconvenience. it is probably 5 foot tall.
Wondering if anyone has tried to charge a scuba tank off of a nitrogen tank before? good/bad idea????
I haven’t had to fill a completely empty bottle, but when I fill from around 2000psi to 2800psi its less than 10 seconds.
The reg I use works like this. You attach to the 6k tank, and open the valve. The input gauge rises to the pressure in your nitrogen tank.
Then you adjust the output pressure you want to stop at with an allen-wrench. You will see the output gauge rising while you adjust, just bring it up to your desired fill pressure. (Once this is set you leave it alone)
Then you attach the air gun bottle, and SLOWLY twist open the reg. The output gauge drops to your initial filled pressure, then rises to the pressure you set.
Once the needle gets to your setting, gas flow stops. You then just close the reg and it bleeds the pressure between the output side and the gun bottle.
Not sure how that all works internally, Ill never take it apart to see.
I haven’t felt any heat buildup at all, but Ive never added more than 500-800psi at a time either.
The N tank is still at 5300psi, and I have filled with it for months already. I shoot 3-4 fills a week easily.

Hey, Riff, just how fast is “really fast”? Isn’t there a way to throttle it back? I always fill my rifles really slow, I figure if the tank gets warm I was probably going too fast. If it helps, I now have a 6000 psi needle valve I no longer need, stick it in ahead of the reg and you can slow the gas flow down to a trickle. Let me know if you want it. Later.

I’m inclined to agree with Riff here. A reg will probably cost you $300 or more, but it’s cheap compared to blowing up your rifle, and maybe yourself. The AF guns have a burst disk, but not all others do. Even at 4500 psi, I made sure everything in my setup was rated for at least 5000 psi. The only exception to that is my foster fittings, and they only see a max of 3K psi.
