"THE LIGHT" is unveiled
OK, first off a big THANKS to Lama and Air Tight Python for their suggestion of a 30mm ring to mount this light to the TSS. Had to use one thin plastic strip shim under the flashlight to hold it tight in the ring. Used a weaver ring mounted to a Kwik-Mount grooved rail adapter that attached to the rail of the TSS frame. Here it is all officially unveiled……..

where did you buy the stuff to mount this, and the light
RHIGHZ you are correct with blue working for blood. And since posting about this, I did some change ups today. Went and bought another one of these lights, a bit cheaper at $24.95 and only has the white 115 lumen bulb in it. Same exact light, just the single bulb. I then dremel cut a red lense out of an old red spotlight lense to fit the exact size of the clear lense in this light and replaced it with red.
Now I have a dedicated red lensed light attached to my SS with sufficient light to take care of business out to 65-70 yds. Now I have the other light with the blue light in my bow hunting pack for tracking blood after dark. Works like a champ.
Hey the blue filter is good for tracking a blood trail. It makes the blood drops show up better.

The light was a perfect fit for a 1 inch scope mount weaver style. I just picked up BKL Rail adapter 11mm to weaver to mount it on. I have since modified the rail mount with the addition of a stud to accommodate my Harris by pod. I use a much small rail adapter now for the light.

Nice light. Only thing the red doesn’t have that the others do is that it won’t reach as far, but it definately reflects eyes better. 😀
Hey, don’t worry about your post here, glad you did so I can see your setup. Did the mounts you have it attached with come with the light or something you engineered to fit it to the gun ?
The light is labeled Walther but I don’t recall who actually makes the light and the remote switch came with it.. I’ll be damned if I can’t remember where I got this for sure. I have a new light now that is a surefire and just don’t have it mounted yet.. On that Walther labeled light, I do know that I spent more that I wanted to but it is a very good light with 4 color filters..
What light is that you’ve got on your gun Dad…… As far as I can find, Coleman does not make a remote switch cap for the light I’ve got and that’s already proved to be a pain in the arse……

I have this light set up on my .25 Cal 12 inch barrel Condor right now. First photo. The second photo shows the light setup.. I have the remote switch sitting right in front of me now and thanks for the reminder. I forgot all about getting that ready for the hunt..

Can that light be fitted with a remote switch? Does your user manual say anything about it?
Thanks for the feedback.. I just hope the critter shows up before I fall asleep in my lawn chair. I had another fellow tell me just leave the back yard light on and just sit still and the opossum will come to the bait that way.. I will try the red light though as it sounds like more fun..
Yes, red is for night hunting to make the eyes reflect the light back to you. Nocturnal animals have very large pupils in their eyes in order to gather much more ambient light. The red light spectrum does not cause their optic nerves to constrict, thus making it harder for them to determine that there is a light shining at them. Only a small amount of red light is needed also. Too much red light is a bad thing. You light the animal up enough for you to see him and he knows there is light shining on him at that point too.

Got the 30mm ring from a buddy who has a gun shop for free. They can be found at Pyramid or just about any other dealer. This one is a weaver mount ring, so I had to get the 11mm to weaver style adapter and it came from Academy sports, about $7 bucks. I think they make 30mm rings in the small dovetail 3/8″ mount, not for certain if that is the same as the 11mm or not. If so, then the adapter would not be needed and would save a little in the height that the light hangs down from the frame. The light is a Coleman 115 lumen LCD bulb, 8hr burn time on 3 AAA batteries. It was at Wal-mart for $29.95
