Did the baffle and venting!
I did the washer spring baffle and frame venting and I must say it improved but still I am not satisfied. I’m thinking Tony! Will the shroud still work with the frame venting done to the TSS?

Isnt your barrel way past the frame though? Why would it make a difference?
I plugged the frame on my 24″ SS with power modded tank, and I could not hear any noticeable difference, it is still quite as hell 8)
I was not sure. which means probably not but in the basement where I can only shoot till I get a permit (NJ) it echoes no matter what. I believe though venting will make the rifle slightly louder but more accurate!
And? Did it make it quieter? What did you learn?
I plugged the frame vents with screws!
Go for the bow. Then you’ll find you have a whole nuther new hobby to dump money into faster than you can save it….. 😆 😆 😆
Just my old long bow that my dad gave me when I was 10. I am still deciding between an Air Arms or a nice compound bow.

You findings sure have got me thinking, so I just plugged my frame with JB weld, and I will see what it does tomorrow. I will then plug the vented bushing and see of that helps.
Bikincrazy, The gun with the 18″ barrel is definately quieter than the one with the 12 and vented bushing. Only thing I could say for this is with the longer barrel, the vast volume of air coming from the barrel comes almost instantly in contact with the Tony shroud, making it do “its thing” as Tony designed them to do. The 12 in barrel, I am again surmising is a bit louder due to the large volume of air in the frame before it gets to the shroud changes the harmonics up a bit, making it a tad bit louder.
Now the one with the vented frame & bushing is definately louder with or without the shroud and I can pretty much blame myself for that. My last hole drilled in the frame comes out just infront of the forearm grip. Maybe had I not drilled that last one, or atleast put it more underneath the forearm, may have made a difference….. I don’t know ? ? ?
Not bashing your results or anything trigger, I think they are very interesting. But why would Tony sell guns with vented frame and bushing, if they are in fact louder than without the vents? Did you vent the frame yourself? Maybe the holes were too big. And the vented bushing only should not have made a difference, because there is nowhere for the air to escape, it will just be trapped between the bushing.
I think dadwilson had the problem, but it was a design error on the shroud he had. Was not a Tony shroud. I’ve got 2 in 12″ and can but my Tony’s on either one and not a problem, other than about 90% quieter when fired with the shroud on….
I thought someone here had a problem using a shroud on a SS with a 12″ barrel? It was clipping due to the distance between the end of the barrel and the end of the shroud.
Just swap the vented bushing with the non-vented bushing.

Because I used a normal baffled shroud, one that encases the entire barrel. With the frame vented, there was a significant amount of air coming out of the frame.
