Excellent job on your shroud! I spent a tidy little sum to purchase a shroud that only slightly is louder than the one you fabricated. I’m impressed, makes me want to drag out the old milling machine and buy a lathe.

I look forward to the arrivail of my new condor. If I can get it to shoot quietly, it should bring down several wild turkeys (this next spring).

How did you attach/bond the cf to the aluminum insert?
Actually, I used a 10/32 grub screw. I just set the aluminum insert into the tube, drilled a #20 hole into it then ran a tap into the alu about 6 turns.
The grub screw will bottom out where the threads get tight. The grub is basically acting as a pin. The alu insert is machined to barely fit inside the tube. I had a hella time getting it in there; I might not have needed a screw at all LOL.

I’m just waiting on some Delrin and Aluminum to put the CF tube you sent me to good use !
All the material I use comes out of the scrap bin, and material choices are pretty slim these days. The tubing I sent YN was second choice. The original tube I selected got “unscrapped” and sold just a few hours before I was going to take it home.
The second problem is I would have to sneak into the factory to use the lathe and mill. Its a rare occasion when the machines are not setup and idle, and I would not be able to cover my tracks.
Don’t mean to disappoint anyone, but I’m not willing to risk my job.
I know a lot of you can make these on your own, so maybe someone will be able to help?
