You may be interested in reading saome of BAZ’s posts while you’re at it- he always has some very inspired designs.
I concur with the general sentiment here, the shot strings look great but how the hell do shoot the thing?! Van is a nice guy and from a real gunsmithing backround to boot, but consistency in place of ergomomics just doesn’t work in my book.
Ok, it is ugly as hell, kinda looks like a Condor a tumor really.
Hopefully a small regulated system can be made for the AF guns without using a lot of funky plumbing to get there.
Adam what is your take on WhyTF!! A.F. doesn’t make something for their customers? Do they not read the forums? Makes me think the company is owned by a NON gun enthusiast.
The best and most elegant regualtor design I have seen is the one McMike designed. Where it is at I do not know. AF is working on a regulator and hopefully it will be available in 09.

A shoulder piece on that is probably a big no. Guys are going to have to do the paintball thing to shoulder it.
It really is not a totally New Development. Ever since Crosman came out with the discovery tank at 2000psi guys have been using them.
Two things Adam….One, What happened to McMike? Two, please give me a link to this discussion about the Cros./Benji tank usage. I’d like to read up on that topic.

Yes I know that and get a bit of a giggle out of Van making it sound like he is so far ahead of the game.
Interesting that he never gives this site and the innovations here even so much as a nod.

That Disco tank is a great idea as it fills at 3,000 and shoots down to 2000 giving a very useable fill pressure from a 4500psi source.
What the heck is the 4500psi tank going to need for filling?

anyways the tank and reg should be $200 plus teh CO2 adapter at $100

My guess on where that reg comes from is spyder, but I’m just guessing and could be way off, but it is one of the largest paintball distributers.
Be interested to know whose regulators Van is using.

The company building the regs is mentioned in his post, however I also see his operating pressure is stated as 4500-5000 psi in the tank. If that shot string was from a 4500 fill it would limit effective use of that setup to those with high dollar compressors, or trips to a paintball place for filling, or would put all of our 4500psi cf tanks in the category of diminishing returns, just like using a 3000psi scuba tank to fill a gun resivoir to 3000 psi. Every fill would be less pressure than the one before.
I just put the question up on yellow as to what his actual starting/ending fill pressures were for the .25cal shot string.

operating pressure will be the 2250/2300psi of the reg output and the fill pressure will be the tank rated working pressure so 4500 in the case of the carbon fiber tanks.
