Long range condor
Im new to PCPS, but Ill be picking up a condor in JAN.
What I wanted to know is the best mods for long range accuacyI know if its just gearing more towards power or is there someting elsetoo??
I dont really know what pushing the envalope is with these rifles 100,?120? yards?
Would like a little help in this area thanks

Personaly I found it hard to use mildots under 100 yards and converting to inches from yards . the mildot master is nice though its a slide rule , you just plug in the # and it tells ya everything ya need to know
The newer reticals are supposed to be easyier Im looking at a Viper on airguns of arizona , there pricey though around 300 beans.
I found this on the net maybe it will help:
A Mil is about 1″ at 100 yards. Thus, if your mil-dot spacing is say 4mils, at 100 yards the scope image would show the dots 4″ apart, at 200yards 8″, 300yards 12″ and so on.
At short ranges, 4mil spacing would be 2″ at 50yards, 1′ at 25yards.
So a deer with about an 8″ target kill zone, (heart/lung area) would take two dot spaces at 100 yards, one at 200 yards.
Remember that with a 4 mil spacing! these figure would change with any kind of change to the spacing. Such as…
5 mil would be 5″ at 100 yards, 10″ at 200 yards and so on…
it takes some practice to get used to . definately have a 10x scope as it makes the math easyier.
The formula I use is …….Target in inches X 27.778 divided by mils =yards
and I use a calculator to do it , no way I can do that in my head .
Then you should have your range card which you need to make your self
which will tell you what the zero is for that range.with what weight pellet.
I suggest useing 1 heavy weight pellet and get your range card for that, then if you want you can make diffent cards for diffent pellets

😯 I marked on a wall various inches across (10″ – 13″ – &) for some bird sizes, to use for range finding. In MIL. dot of course off my scope. At different yardages back from the marking is a different size referencing hold over. I also have a column for scope Xpower, as it does change stuff (number of MIL. to hold or count). Because of that I simple with X6 or X8-9. Less writing on my stick-on card with info..
Sometimes connect the cards then, having more stuff to realise. Meaning I like to have different variables as to a walk about; Like my different pellets, & power settings and distances good for all noted right on my gun tank (cheek area) because of the different game shots that apear. ➡
you have to keep your power consistant, if you change the power , your mil dot formula will change also . so keep it at 10x or 20x and stay there. I keep mine at 10. But there is a differnt formula for power change also, I dont bother with it as I like shooting more than math 😀

the next series of reticles is the christmas tree or HORUS retical.I havent used them yet , but they seem easyier than the mildot
You’ve got it right. Look through the scope as you adjust the zoom and trying to hold it still. You’ll notice that the location of the X in the crosshairs stays put (or should). Now pay attention to the dots and notice that the distance between those dots changes. Hold-over in inches stays the same of course, but hold-over relative to the dots doesn’t it.
I don’t know how to explain it any simpler than “the distance between the dots changes when changing zoom.”
Maybe someone else can explain it better.
Hmmm – I’m feeling 😕 & 😳 that, I’m not understanding “ZERO”! ( or I am understanding about -0- !) But, ?
I may set my cross hairs for 35 yds. so things beyond that will need holdover with MIL. When I zoom to a higher power or closer\larger more detail object (bird or somthing) at 35 yds. my cross hairs are still the same. Now, when I go back to the origional scope power setting, then hold over for a target at 55 yds. let’s say it’s 1.10 MIL HO., so I zoom in closer the ho;d over is not even the same! Am I understanding this to be a dissfunk scope? Or, am I just not getting it! ❓
Matthius, the ZERO point will not change with adjustment of the zoom, on a good scope. The MILDOTs (hold-over) will, however.

A year ago, about when I bought my TSS, I read about “holding zero when changing any of the above”. Man, When I change zoom pwer or anything, the up/down (hold over etc.) changed and I just wrote down the MIL on a card for different distances. I always thought that was proper. I don’t think I’m understanding this ZERO no CHANGE stuff. Could you please tell me this answer?
The Big Boys are less than stellar. Stick to Kodiak or Eun Jin.
Sorry, I’ve not shot any of the big boy pellets. I’m sure there are online reviews though, you’ll just have to do some searching.
I was thinking more along the lines of a .22 I know the BC is higher in 25 , but For my first PCP , im going to opt for the .22 most likely the Kodiacks and Eunjuns, Although I do have some of the new Big Boys at 26 gr
but I think they were a little much for my 350 magnum, have ya ever shot the big boys in 22?

Note that it takes power to run these slugs up to speed. Short barrels are not recommended nor are guns making less than 70 FPE with Kodiaks. I don’t know what the exact lower power level cut-off is but I don’t want folks to think these slugs are advertised as working in any gun.
I don’t recommend the 7 ring slugs just because they are good for hunting. I recommend them for long range shooting because they will not drift in the wind as much as regular pellets. You’ll find the wind always blows when you want to shoot more than 50 yards! 😉
Did I misunderstand you ? 66 gr slugs!!! Wow Thats crazy lol . I thought the ein juns were the heaviest 32 gr .

Pretty damn cool “game” to knowledge! The demo version is frustrating! Layman ways are kind of goin with this guy for now though? I have saved it and I do thank YOU all for your info.
