Lathe turned pellets?

I read last night about a couple of types of lathe turned pellets that “no one knew about”.. have any of you ever used any and what were the results? thanks!

What would happen if you filled the cavity of a Beeman Kodiak pellet with lead.

The best ones there for my purposes would be the 100 for $115 ball, but they are light at 640 gr. My rifle doesn’t shoot boreriders worth a darn.

The ones I shoot were made by a local shooter, he had a machine shop crank out a few tens of thousands. They were referred to as “Prince-Al” bullets over on Biggerhammer.com. Future production is uncertain, now that industrial metals are coming down in price, they might do another run. I only have 500 or so left. Sometimes Jeanne Bolda from CalTron runs a special on the lapuas, but I haven’t seen one in over a year.

Sorry, if I mislead you..Its not my 37k mill I was speaking of it was my lathe..it was twice what the mill was 😉 not everything I do is for monetary value.. I usually put out a garden each year also.. and you know what..the stuff I grow in the end probably cost twice as much as I could go to the store and buy it for..heck, I’ll never even come close to paying for my tiller.. so turning you own pellets vs growing tomatoes that end up costing $3 each?? PRICELESS 😆

I think, I smell a trick question! lol! If I had a $37,000 mill, I’d look for ways to “use it “also! Carving out pellets in lead.or any other suitable metal for air rifle use, is not gonna happen ,even with your $37,000 mill. Carve a nice pellet mold with your $37,000 mill and you’ve got a customer—me! Push the button! It’s easy on a “push-button” $37,000 mill. I won’t say I am familiar with “your” $37,000 mill,but I will say, unless your doing multiples,(each piece the same), each seperate design has to be programmed into the $37,000 machine! (many hours for the programmer ,at a huge cost per hr.) I wonder if the owner of this $37,000 machine (which is minimal for manufacture) knows this?,and could make money ,carving pellets?

Probably depends on your lathe..if you have the ones with the hand cranks or the ones like mine with the buttons 😉

Cannot feature doing small bullets on a lathe.
Man that would be some kinda pain eh?

I spose you could turn up a dozen or so of each design then shoot em?
get a mold made for the best ones.

They are made in Japan and sold here as Beeman Silver Jets, and Silver Arrows. I have no idea how they make them, but I’m sure it’s not pure lead, probably has antimony in it. Me thought they weren’t that whippy.
