How loud is your shroud ??
I have no experience with shrouds , I purchased one and put it on my Condor with co2, It was still pretty loud, about as loud as my RWS 34.
In fact I spooked some crows who were feeding on the ground (I never saw them ) two doors down with the noise .
Whats your view on this?

The guy I sold my RWS 48 .22 to came over this week end to shoot my new toy. He said my condor is quiter than my old RWS 48. I did not say anything about a shroud or noise levels he just said wow for the power that thing is quiet.
First off, I have a Talon SS with a 24″ barrel, so the HPA part is going to be quieter, the C02 part the same. Mine shoots 17fpe on CO2 and is definitely more quiet than my RWS 460 and arguably more quiet than my RWS 46 – Possibly as quiet as my TX200….nah!
I have a Frame Extender, so it is not as quiet as the high price spread, but more quiet with the 24″ barrel on HPA than a stock TSS.
First of all mine is great I love it! Is it quiter than my rws48 was?? probably not. The first thing I can tell you is my wife stopped complaining about me shooting in the basement the day I put my shroud on. They work awesome, quiet as a mouse fart, nope. I have vented my own bushing and I am ordering one vented from someone on here because it looks like they drilled much larger holes than I did. The shroud is a must have item yes, miracle worker no. Just think how much power your getting at close to springer noise. I have a GTBJ shroud and love it. The pellet still wacks my backstop hard. LOL I may get the putty or whatever they call it. I shot 5 shots at a squirrel before he took one in the head. Was my gun so quiet he never knew what was going on? No but quiet enough that he moved around the other side of the tree for a minute then came back. about a 45 yard shot and he was not sure where the noise was coning from. I will say the pellet smacking the branch was louder than my condor on #8 on the power wheel with about 2500 psi in the tank. BUY ONE YOU WILL NEVER REGRET THE $ SPENT ON ONE!
Harry , it has quieted down some, Im guessing a new gun , new bottle and new shroud may have had something to do with it. I dunno.
but for right now I can live with it, there is no question that it makes noise from the barrel, its not just the hammer slap and gun working, or the pellet strike.
I paid a good buck for it , and Im not impressed with it at all nor would I ever recomend it to someone. Its better than no shroud of course, but its not as quiet as I was lead to belive.
I may call them up and ask if they can have a look at it , test it , and see if there is something they can do, I dont know if they will,other than that Im going to have to buy another shroud.

If your trying to be neighbor stealthy, DO NOT stick the barrel out the window. In fact, the further your muzzle is indoors the better. It’ll be loud to you, but quiet to them.

I think you mentioned you have an Airhog shroud?
I have a .22 & .25 Condor with Airhog shrouds. They are MUCH less quiet than my Diana 36 (same as 34) Springer, when shooting at <1,000fps. Your Condor should not be as loud as a mid-powered Magnum Springer. My Diana 350 .22 (Ultra-Mag) sounds almost like rimfire to me compared to my Condors, and it is tuned. My 12fpe 850 .22 (CO2) is also way much louder than my Condors. I do not have a safety on the .22 Condor so that probably helps. The .25 Condor is also fully tuned by Tony/Talon-Tunes, but I can’t see your gun being as loud as a 34 that shoots 7.9gr @ 900+fps.
When shooting from indoors or within a room out the window, make sure the muzzle sticks out of the window a little. If the muzzle is inside, it will sound louder because of the sound bouncing back from the walls to your ears. My wife sometimes 50ft away outside says she can barely notice any shots or sometimes does not hear anything unless I hit one of my 2×8’s. I mostly shoot into a silent trap. When she is in the front of the house gardening or watering the plants, and I ‘m shooting out the back window, she never hears anything.
Dogs have amazing hearing so you can’t go by that. I too have birds or crows fly away when after I take a shot. Crows especially have very acute hearing too. But when I shoot, somtimes a crow 60yds out won’t fly away right away. Also when shooting a squirrel 30yds out, its buddy 45yds away usually does not run away.
Also noone has asked you, “how far is 2 doors down”? Is it only 25yds or 75yds? A dog will hear a shrouded Condor probably from 80+yds away. Most dogs can hear and recognize your car’s engine a block away and start wagging their tail. I think your problem is that you from inside the house possibly several feet from the window which will about double the noise level. Stick the barrel out the window or go outside and you will notice a big difference.
GTBJ — I am smarter than most because I use a wooden table so no loud pings of metal or glass here. Just the thud of WOOD and I like WOODIES.

Between the shroud (talon tunes), venting the front bushing, and venting the
frame, my condor is unbelievably quiet (I’m also dialed down and not exceeding
1000 fps). It is so quiet, in fact, that @ distances > 20 yards the birds – if they
spook – typically move only a few feet and then resume whatever they were
doing after the report. Leaving me with ample opportunities to anchor a second.

As with most folks here with a quality shroud on their AF rifle, the hammer slap
and pellet impact appear to be louder than the report itself. I see Tony has a
way of reducing the hammer slap and I may invest in that solution in the not
too distant future.

Hold over, as others have said before, the T.T. shroud makes the mechanics of the gun and the impact of the pellet the loudest part. I can’t imagine it being any quieter unless there was a way to insulate the whole gun lol.
Thats solid advice ,GTBJ, I did have a problem with my safty not catching for a while, now it seems alright again. go figure.
Im assumeing the purpose of venting the front bushing is to allow air to pass through to the larger area . correct?
Im also thinking ,I might be able to pick up a used ,vented 24 in barrel from one of the guys with the 25.

Holdover: Is Airhog’s shroud you have? I believe they make 2 differenty types. One is a “real” shroud and the other a frame extender. I could be wrong but look into that.
I took about 80 practice shots with my Diana 350 .22 yesterday and then decided to shoot my Condors .22 and .25 (shrouded ones) just to make sure they still hold zero and are accurate. I was astonished at how much more quiet the Condors were. Shoot a Magnum Springer and a shrouded Condor back to back and you ‘ll realize there is a big difference. I shot the 350 again after a dozen shots with the Condors. The 350 sounded almost like rimfire in comparison and I was shooting the TT .25 @ 80+fpe (w/Airhog shroud) and a 2900psi fill.
I must admit, the almost-stock 60fpe Condor .22 was slightly louder than the fully-tuned .25. They have the same Airhog shroud. It was the first time I had shot the .22 & .25 back to back. So that goes to show you that a well tuned Condor even with 35% more power, can be more quiet than a stocker.
