Q:

(SHROUD PICS ADDED now with video) recomended hole size

I had seen a post last year, about the difference in pellet size vs the center hole size in the shroud. I can not find it now. If someone can post a link or new info it would be great.

I can’t remember what the recomended hole size was .??? larger than the pellet size. reason I ask, I was building a .22 cal shroud last night. The center hole was drilled at .259 and I still had my .25 barrel on. When I looked through the barrel, I had no shadowing. I test fired it (with a .25 eunjin) and it was very quiet. I will post a video later. I believe this is to tight of a tolerance, but what do you more experienced machinists think?

I have an 18″ barrel on a SS frame.

depends on how long of a barrel that you have. I can cut the tubes to any length, but you should have aleast 6 inches in front of the muzzle. I have not expermented with going less than 6 inches.

Any chance you could make one a little shorter?

Yes the grub screw goes into that slot and then snugs up.

Hey Fishin Rod is that a slight groove cut into the sleeve for the grub screw to have a notch to bite into?

I posted the price in the shroud/moderator forum and was asked to remove it by a mod. I was told you may only post a price in the for sale forum.

I can not post a price in this forum

Why can’t you post the price in this forum???????

The neighbors of where I was at, do not like me shooting without my shroud on. it’s very loud. I have another video of my .25 cal shroud from a camera mounted on my scope. You can hear the spring and hammer pretty good.

Before any comment about shooting across a road, I did have a spotter to confirm no peds or cars.

Nice work Rod. I’d seen the video before but had no idea it was you. In the video you keep lookin over your shoulder like the feds are gonna bust through the bushes at any moment. Added suspense to the video. 🙂

My .25 cal has a heavy spring in it. The pressure was at 2900psi. the power wheel was on high. 34.9 grain eunjin pellets shot at 935 fps average.

That one is 12″ long. I can not post a price in this forum, however, they shoud be very reasonable. As far as sound, I have never heard any other shrouds. So I have nothing to compare it to. I did post a video a while back with the one I made for my .25 cal. I will post it again below. When I start to sell them If for any reason the buyer is not happy with it, I will offer a refund, but the buyer would have to pay for return shipping.
