I just want to get my cronograph before I mess with it. I have another front bushing coming too so I will take it apart and put it back together then set everything up again. I will try those specific ranges.

Slayer at .056 I’d bet the reason you were getting bad groups was you were probably smacking the top hat against the bottle. Did you try .070 and 2500? The difference between .065-.070-.075 can be significant. I believe one of the reasons for such wild variences is poor quality springs inside the bottle.

Mine is @ .136 from the factory & is too high. I only get around 20 shots before poi change & poor groups unless @ pw setting of 8-10. I want to be able to get at least 30+ consistent shots with pw set at 6-8. If I add a heavier hammer or hammer weight I can turn the pw down hopefully to 4 or so with a lower th. Does this sound right?

I set it to .083 and back to one hole groups at 28 feet. I guess .056 is way too small of a gap. I was at about .100 and thats where it came form the factory about. its good now until i get my chrono.

I have messed with fill pressure some. I settled on 2500 to 2600 psi.
It does not seem to make too much difference to pump it all the way up. I fill it to about 2500psi shoot it and fill it sooner works for me so far. I am sure you get some more scientific answers here from those in the know. I am a newbie

Thanks. Right now I get better groups with a 2800 fill & pw set to 10. But only get 10 -12 consistent shots. @ that fill with pw set to 4 I get partial valve lock. it opens @ 6. What fill pressure should I start @ when I lower the th? Why is there so much difference in these precision CNC cut parts?

So mine is way too high @ .136 right? Can I raise the brass piece to be level with the edge of the valve or not?

No. Just adjust the tophat on the stem the best you can while using a chrono.

yes I even had what appeared to be keyholes. the groups went wild when adjusted. I will start adjusting back tonight, will try the .77 setting people talk about until chrono arrives. I could not imagine the groups going crazy at that range? under 30 ft in the basement? I have a laser and a scope and tried both to be sure my scope was not screwy or my laser off but same results.

That’s fairly normal, It sounded like the groups were opening up, once you get your crony just find the sweet spot, set it and forget it.

when I adjusted the th the point of impact was a 1/2 lower and seemed like alot less power. I have a crongraph on order but its back ordered

slayer are you going supersonic when the groups open p?

Mine started around .086 . I adjusted down to .056
My one hole groups opened up to all over the place (1 inch groups) at 28 feet. I will adjust back up slowly to see where I pick up the accuraccy but I cannot beleive it made that much difference. I shot 5 groups or 5 pellets each in one hole groups. I pumped up the tank and adjusted the top hat and wow all over the place. 👿

Here’s a pic;

cool, I was thinking you had an old condor valve that had 2 holes were the new ones have slots.
I’ve heard of them being recessed a bit, I don’t know why or if it has any ill effects, but someone that know will chime in
