Condor w/AirHog slowly falling apart
Okay finally went PCP this last Jan and have been impressed but. About two months ago the safety on my Condor no longer works. Its just stuck in the fire position (I know, some people might think of this as a blessing but I am always weary of having any type of weapon without a safety.
Also, now whenever I try and cock the bolt in the open position, it takes 2-4 times before it locks in the open position. Also, I have gotten my fill pressure with the chrony (2450/fires .22 Kodiaks at 1030 fps at PW 7/7). Problem is, recently the fill pressure now seems to be around 2300. I did make a small mistake of trying to adjust the tophat and noticed that I tightened the screws a bit much and made a small indention on the inside of the tophat. Figures I ended up putting the tophat back at .084.
I am a bit disapointed in my Condor. I have an RWS 460 Mag .22 and the craftsmanship is outstanding but it just wont fire heavy pellets. Lastly, I would like to see Kodiaks at about 1000fps with the power wheel on 4. As it is I have to use the wheel on 7 or above and it makes it loud even with the shroud. It gets really quiet at around PW5.
Given the money I spent on this rifle I am considering sending it to get tuned and then not mess with it. Any ideas?

The triggers, the in tank regulator, BKL mounts, the EDGE, AF is in over their head and instead of fixing the existing problems they insist on making more products…
This has been the death of many companies and will probably destroy AF as well…
Like Apple, the iPod and the iPhone will eventually kill Apple’s computer division. It has already decreased the operability and reliability of their computers and operating systems and the iPhone isn’t even that good of a product. Not to mention that the iPod slim Nano stops working after just two months… So instead of FIXING the problems what do they do? A new Apple tablet PC is in the making… 🙄
What makes you think AF has an in tank regulator in the works?
They can’t even get the CO2 adapter to seal so how would they ever make a reg that works?

BUT, I think they will do fine building black guns that are so much fun to mod and gussy up. No sense expecting any more out of them. They are a sales point and not innovators. Their idea of technical support was BB Pelletier. ……. remember/?????/…….

Took mine out right away who needs it ? It is a bolt action single shot just release the bolt slowly or cock it when needed. More people have died because of so called safties then anything else. Always treat a gun as it is loaded and only cock it when you are about to shoot.

Absolutey agree… and these are some of the most powerful small bore airguns you can buy. I’m almost surprised we haven’t heard of people getting hurt bad because of this! Hard to believe AF hasn’t totally re-thought the whole safety design, should have been upgraded a long time ago imo. I’ve heard the same stories all to often.
Ask DFH what he’s going to be charging for a tune. Might be something to look into.
Trigger is terrible. I still want someone to make trigger parts out of a better steel. Mine has had trouble. They are crap.

Just ‘fess up to it, guys. The trigger and safeties on these guns are absolute crap. In the best case they are unpredictable. In the worst case they are dangerous. This needs to be addressed.

I ‘m not sure I understand how the velocity was restored after removing the safety. Unless I misunderstood.. The velocity should have gone up after the break-down/cleaning you did.
Anyway I don’t have a safety on my .22 Condor either and I like it that way. I don’t like the safetys on my .25’s, although the TT .25’s safety is real smooth and I can push it forward with my trigger finger without moving my hand off the grip. However, a couple of months ago, I was sniping out of the bathroom window cause I spotted a Groundhog and I had a better shot at him from there. I cocked the TT .25 and a few secs later the WorkButt slightly bumped into the cabinet, as I held it by my side trying to relocate the G-hog. The gun went off! The 31gr Kodiak put a nice size hole in one of the tiles right under the window sill. It did not go through the wall outside. It must have hit a 2×4″ or a 2×2″ right under the sill. I had never taken the safety off! So I will be removing the safety bar on that one too. I just don’t trust them now. Plus I have squeezed the trigger many times while I had some critter’s head in my crosshairs but forgot to take the safety off. The safety is in an unatural position. Not like Springers or other guns where your finger goes to it instinctively to disengage it every time. Not that I don’t want a safety on my guns.. I do, but I just can’t get used to the Condor’s.

I keep all my pellets at 950 fps and less. It is just more consistently accurate for me.
Okay, well velocities are better now. Firing Kodiaks at 1016fps/2200psi/PW4. I bet I can tweak the tophat a bit more since there is a bit of play in the bolt. Maybe what she needed was a teardown.

Is there supposed to be a small peg or something it connects to? Becuase there is no peg there, just a small indention of what seems like something used to go there. I guess I will order it from Air Force directly. 🙄
