This is a Test of the Jerry’s Kids Slugs.
I’ve been having some strange results with different pellets recently. Wit Kod’s in the .25, at 50 yards it will give any where from 1.25 down to 1/8″ at 50. but seems super hold sensitive. I have to be super careful. And at times, it just loves to throw a crazy flier with no apparent reason. ow here is the real shocker. I would have thought that when going heavier and heavier, it would have a harder time stabilizing the slug’s. Especially since a slug doesn’t have a skirt to help stabilize the projectile. After all. Ever where you go, it is said that a air gun bbl. won’t properly stabilize a bullet!
The results are even more baffling. To me at least.
6 ring at 50 yds. 2 to 2.5 inches.
7 ring at 50 yds. 1 1/2 to 2 inches.
9 ring, Shock! how about .17 ctc. A fluke I figured, so I shot two more groups. both Match grade groups! Now why in heck wont the Kod’s do this? And why the very heavy slug’s?
I ordered some JSB’s in .25 to try out. I love the fact that the heavy 9 rings slugs are ultra accurate in my gun, But! I would like a accurate pellet for every day tree rat and rabbit!
The results were .251 / 5 shot group
.176 / 3 shot group
.108 :shock:/ shot group This is by far the tightest group I have ever shot with a high powered air gun. And with Jerry’s Kid’s Sure Fire Slug’s. I’m tempted to call b/s on myself. I’m just not believing what I am seeing here. and as old Elmer Keith once said. Hell, I was There!

WOW when you have a sub MOA gun why mess with it? I have a Tony tuned to the max .25 24″ poly barrel condor. After shooting over 12 kinds of pellets, I now shoot just #3 buckshot, and 9 rings. Tite groops and kills what ever walks, flys, or runs on the land where I live ( from 1/4 oz. to 3/4 ton). WHEN YOU HAVE THE BEST, WHY MESS WITH THE REST? If you must know why the slugs by Jerrys kids are the best, it’s the donuts.

Humm? The Crown looks fantastic. Nice and smooth. But it may be slightly rolled some where. If it is, it’s my fault. Not Walt’s. Oop’s!
Lube is FP-10. Always works well when used very lightly. Don’t see how bore could be dirty. I haven’t shot more than a couple of thousand through it. 😕 😆 😉

Another interesting idea for you to follow-up on Mike! I’d still take a look at the crown though. I don’t think there is anything grossly wrong there but is it possible that an edge got rolled just a bit? It can’t be “bad” or the 9 rings wouldn’t shoot well either. It has to be a subtle little thing that just doesn’t have a strong impact on the long, heavy, slow slugs.
Knife just throwing out ideas here but… when was the last time you cleaned the barrel? Maybe a dirty bore doesn’t have as much of an effect on the monster slugs ❓
Were you using any lube that the Kodiaks may not have liked? Since you shot the Kodiaks & 6-7 rings first maybe the lube wore off by the time you got to the 9rings.
I doubt it’s a crown problem since Walt made your barrel. I’d think you’d have to get pretty wild with the polish to screw it up.

“Casting genius?” Love it! 😆 😆 😆 The slugs were of course, actually cast by 12-16 year olds. I’ll pass along that they are genius’.
I do like the fact that the investigation is centering on why other pellets don’t shoot as accurately as the Surefire slugs. Beats the alternative for me and also confirms that we’re sending out product that is consistent enough to shoot well when shot by good shooters.
Still, it remains a mystery about the Kodiaks and for Knife the lighter Surefire slugs too. Maybe the trolls or phishers will toss out a solution for free?
Knifemaker may be velocity as others have said ,do not have a 25 but my 22 seems very sensitive to different pellets.Change in 40 fps is the difference between one hole groups and 3/4″ .
What do these weight , who sells them , Has any one tried anything like this in 22
