Scotland and airrifles
I got the tail end of a news report about the Scots wanting to change the rules on air rifles.
Anyone here know what is going on?

If the lisence does come into affect,wont that mean that everyone with a pellet gun will be able to go above 12ft pounds?,that in itself will make a lot of peeps out to be idiots,they make rules just so they can break them yeah right,sounds about right tho,cant see them bein able to police the ban,to many peeps will apply and it will just be to much for a lot of peeps,cant put you in jail no room there as it is,not to mention all that lost revenue,why dont they put more effort into makin people better,like with cancer,than makin stupid laws like this one comin up,makes ya fed up guys….

Can see a licence being brought in but not a ban as we cant aford to lose the tax from sales with the countries finances as they are at the moment. The police dont want licencing , there got enough to cope with and cant control ilegal firearms as it is. So we will just have to see what the Calman Commission says in the new year to see what happens …… on the other hand there should be alot of cheap deals on the net soon , with a flooded market ! 😀 … mostly posted from Scotland 🙁 .

It’s a shame how a single minded person can cause us all so much difficulty.
I have a FAC license for my stealth so it is well over the legal limit so find it difficult to believe that this could be taken from me if i lived in Scotland yet a powder burner will be fine…
I spoke to the guys in my local gunsmiths today and they expressed great concern for this law being passed and the rest of the UK to follow suit.
Ask the British Olympic Pistol Team…. They have to go to Switzerland.
They are going to have to pass special dispensation for there to be Pistol events in the 2012 London Olympics.
Special dispensation was already granted by Blair in 2006 prior to the Olympic bid.It was discovered that the reason for the Uk not winning previous bids was due to the ban on the pistol shooting events because of the outright ban on firearm pistols.
Its is true that the British Olympic target pistols are held in a vault in Switzerland,were the team can practice without fear of prosecution.However it is also true that the British team can NOT enter the event on British soil in the 2012 Olympics,although everyone else can.
As British citizens we will be subjected to dictatorship in front of the rest of the world.
I for one am embarressed to be British.The rest of the world sees the UK as a fair and democratic country.The truth is far from that.

I don’t see that they will be able to pass a complete ban. They will destroy many businesses over night by doing something so stupid.
There is a huge following in the uk with comperitive airgun shooting and how can you do that with out an air rifle?
I recon they will settle with all owners needing a licence.

in the last 10 years 3 people have been injured/killed with air guns in scotland but in the last 10 yeasr there has been more than treble that killed or injured with real guns/knifes but they still can,t stop it i do love my country but it,s getting to be a joke .
Thats what im sayin guys,another way to tax peeps,you see if that dow happen,cant ban it,but they can tax the funk out of us,next they will be banning us all for owning cars?????????
