AA S410
which one?
aa site lists the standard model 24″ barrel, 42.5 length, 3.1 kg (6.8 lbs)
pamona airguns lists the same specs.
pyramid air lists this same gun as weighing 7.65 lbs?
i am finding some of the same differences with the classic
i have already read the 6 pg post started by steve, that took care of most of my questions, but i have a few more.
the sights above list the classic as 6-6.5 lbs but a 24″ barrel but less power than the standard. if the barrels are the same length for the classic and the standard shouldn’t the power be the same, but with less shots?
i am having some shoulder and elbow issues. i want to upgrade my condor for a lighter gun. part of the problem was the heavy scope, leapers 4x16x50 (27oz) this problem has been fixed with a bushnell elite 4200 3x9x40 (13oz) almost one pound lighter.
are there that many different models or are some of the web sites wrong?

WalkonKing what pellet and fps on the LD for hunting? How many shots? My next pistol is the marauder, the magazine is what sold me!

Those numbers are correct that are posted.
I believe it is 42″ OAL. That is 3″ less then the ERB and 3″ more then the carbine.
I get 40 good shots before filling and the extra tube length is a benefit over the carbine which gives less shots.

hey wok, i am not sure if i got this correct, but pamona lists
s410 carbine 885mm (34.8″)
s410 classic 980mm (38.5″)
s410 extra 1080mm (42.5″)
not sure i did the conversions right!
40 shots
lighter weight than extra
good looks
and enough power for any little critter i would hunt with an airgun anyway!
i am liking the classic more and more!
I hunt with mine all the time. Head shots at 50 yds is doable. I have taken squirrels, Crows, Rabbit at 50 with head shots.
The accuracy lets you do it
I have been using it more lately because it is a blast to shoot and hit what you aim at with a pistol.
Adam hunts with his LD – out to fifty yards IIRC on small game.
All the 410 series are repeater’s. I’m not sure if the shorter guns have adjustable power – they can have it done as an aftermarket mod (that doesnt void warranty) by Pomona Airguns
If weight was an issue that kept me from shooting, then yes I would trade my Classic for a gun I could shoot.
The best thing you can do is buy a gun you can actually get some use out of. Having airguns sitting in a case because they are to loud or to heavy is a horrible feeling.

luckily weight is not that big of an issue, if that ever changes i will take your advice, sell the rifle and buy a pistol.
yes, having a 4 year old REM .243 that i have yet to fire, or even put a scope on it, that i am now going to sell for a nice loss, well i can confirm that is an absolutely horrible feeling. hope i make a better decision next time.

1. the new s410 classic is a repeater, and has adjustable power. is this correct?
2. does anyone hunt with a mac-1 LD? you know little stuff like squirrels, bunnies, and starlings. or is this asking to much?

The carbine won’t be as powerful but, it will take the same game as the “regular” version if hunting is your thing. While not as powerful, the carbine offers it’s own set of advantages.
When I first got into airgunning, like a lot of others, fps was extremely important to me. Now I realize there are many other factors to appreciate.
Either way you go I think you will be pleased.

I got infected with the desire to buy AA S410 as well and look at them for a while now but the only dilemma is weather I should but Carabine or Regular size version. Carbine is something I want but limited power make me doubt. What do you guys think, can carbine be as powerful as regular size AA.
well thats light enough, but the low power would be an issue. plus i thought the consensus was that most would choose the 410 line over the marauder line?
i should have said this from the start, but the 410 gets one more plus in my book. i have a “friend” that owes me a favor. 410c or extra walnut stock plus shipping to “friend” and from “friend” to me 850.00. kinda hard not to want one at that price. this discount would be for anything PA carries. so keep my discount in mind. this would apply for any gun PA carries. big price gap to cyclone or edgun.
let me ask you this wok? would you trade your classic for a marauder if you could get the price difference back.

i have read that other post you started a couple of times now, and yes those guns are very easy on the eyes, and the ability to tune each pellet with the turn of the dial i believe will be very handy.
I must confess a ceertain couriosity regarding the flexability of being able to use HPA, or CO2…that could be handy. Although, like WOK, I too like power, and my S410 is shooting the 16gr JSB’s at 950.
that is awesome power for sure, as for CO2 i have had my condor for a little over a year now, and i have not hardly used CO2 since i got my scuba tank. most of the time i have my gun turned back to 600-700 but it is nice to be able to spin the wheel and shoot prairie dogs from 100-150 yards when the opportunities arise.

yea that is the way i am leaning. i have seen some posts that say the marauder can do just as good performance wise, but compared to the s410, the fit and finish leaves much to be desired. you hardly ever hear bad about
the s410. now i just need to save up some money and figure out which one i want.

My S410 is beautiful also. It shoots like poison and best of all…I can turn down the power without disassembling the rifle. That’s just too cool. 😀

That rifle is spitting Crosman premiers out at 995 fps…and it’s accurate. I bought a Rich from Mich shroud that quieted it down almost to where I want it…nothing is perfect and Rich took care of my order quickly. That was another $100. My son immediately fell in love with the HV…I guess that’s a good thing 😉

No way would I trade my s410 erb extra for a Marauder with change back. My buddy has a Marauder, I shot it, its ok but my 410 out shoots it. The 410 also has a certain quality look and feel about it, but of course it costs more. His gun is quieter though. But that’s a good deal you have for that 410. That should be hard to pass up.
