C-razy N-aked C-hickens…SS Insert
Those ‘lil cluckers do exactly what I tell ’em everytime! This is my max efficiency state of the fart insert design. Hole is .265 and concentric w/in .002 over 4.25″. It’s pretty effective and almost as quiet as the 7″ external shroud I have (don’t know the maker on that one).

but then i wouldnt have any rc cars…..what then to do….
would be cool if you could find me those things i need from rc-components website….i get a nice discount from them…actually get the stuff for what they pay…..
and i would need a guy to fly out here and help me set it all up…..
would be cool to do it…i got a pc right on the other side of the wall…with plenty of power to run just about anything in regards to software
rc cars rules…..
You could buy some steppers and a controller instead of 10 different RC car’s….
A few months back on one of the shooting shows. One of the silencer makers had something like that for a powder burner. They were selling for $ 600. On An AR style rifle the action was louder than the report.
One of the tech schools here has training on the CNC machines. Maybe you can sign up for classes and that can be your project. “OOPS my finger slipped I didn’t mean to make 1000 of them” LOL
Al
Enough with the teasing….sell me one
As a follow up on this, I got my girlfriend to shoot it so I could hear it from a different perpsective. This was in the basement 10 ft in front and 2 ft to the side of the muzzle and 2500 psi fill pw 4.5 (no chrony). The sound was a pffft. The impact into the 3/16 wall heavy cardboard tube stuffed w/ old jeans was condiderably louder. Shooting at full power from a shooters perspective cheek weld doesn’t seem to be a louder report but the tank ping is. Porting the two holes in the frame under the handguard took the last edge off but I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t hold off and do it with baffling.
gotcha…..would just think the s baffel might decrease accuracy….if it doesnt then awesome !
volume is king….and that skinny design sure does look effective
yeah the noise being made makes all the difference….
other thought….venting each chamber to the other than the where the pellet goes through, with holes small enough that air has to slow down to get through….could be a grove along the edge, or drilled…….designs like the logun ldc basivly went into a big surrounding chamber…..
great work keep it up !
I love it. It looks just like mine, only different.
Mines nothing like that, but its going to become something like that in the near future.
That is very cool!
very very nice….have been deaming of something like that for a while, but never got around to actually try make one
so ….when do they come up for sale….can one order it in differen OD sizes so they fit the AF variances ?
just a thought…..could the v shaped baffels be rotated 90 degrees every second one ? i wonder if that would change anything
Cygnus, I think the S baffle creates a turbulence that turns the airblast against itself as well as dampening harmonics. I considered rotating the V baffles 180 deg on one half side of it but then I would’ve needed to leave a little web along the middle with a cutout for air to bleed left/right but decided against it to max volume. This could be something I’d try without the web since the 1st one I screwed up on had the V’s like this but one side was slightly ahead creating a .060 vertical space betweeen each side. That one seems to let more air out but with a softer tone and lower frequency. So the sound pressure level (db) may actually be greater but it sounds slightly better. Most people aren’t aware of this aspect of the technology.
Sam, I just drilled 2 holes (because the 1st hole wasn’t too eventful) about 1/2 inch apart and a 1/2 inch in front (towards the muzzle) of the rear barrel bushing in the middle of the rail under the handguard. It’s the same thing others have done except mines ugly cause at home I’m a Third World Cavemen with cordless drill! The only other thing was to wrap a piece of scotchbrite that didn’t overlap between the barrel bushing to diffuse the air escaping.
Now the bad news is I’m not planning to produce these for sale because they take soooo long to machine and it’s hard to get time on a machine since they aren’t mine.
I would think that would make it very difficult to produce…
beautiful, does the S baffel help over the shape like the others ?

Are they for sale yet. I needs me one a them..
Would you post another pic of what you did please?
That does look super cool. How much does it reduce the report?
Sweeeeeet!!!
Looks like it says “Badass”!!! 😉 😆

I have a CXX spec buggy, by Losi. It is the spec buggy that came with the blue tires…has an ESC, 3 or 4 battery packs, prophet plus charger etc…pretty fast, but nothing compared to the guys running the LiPo packs and ESCs w/fans etc…
Was thinking of trading it for an air rifle…
