Two New Pics…Marauder Conversion Kit Near Completion…
Prototype, before anadozing. Take six inches off the barrel and cut the shroud to extend tip to tip with the shortened air tube, and that will be my carbine, all in black. 36″ OAL. my grip will slide all the way up to the trigger guard, as shown in the other two pictures.

$279 fully complete with grip, 6 position butt stock, full length picatinny rail under the forestock, rail covers, and all the hardware. All I need is the trigger guard from my stock. This is a drop-in kit. Drop in the Marauder, and tighten one screw.
I’m having my barrel cut down to 14″ and extending tip to tip to the air tube. I’m going for a Mrod full carbine, 36″ in OAL.
It’s coming along, so I wanted to share this with you. The guy doing this is a CNC machinist, and owns three Marauders. He wrote the software for his stocks. He wanted to build a carbine, a rifle and a tricked out exotic wood enhanced aluminum frame. Once he published the pics, he got so much interest, he decided to offer a Marauder Kit, for rifle or carbine. All with drop in parts, like mine.
I’ll post pics once mine gets assembled and shipped. He’s early in development/anadozing of the kits, and needs to cuts some barrels to be ready for orders. He’s going to rechamber the stock barrels, clean them up, and do a bit of magic to enhance performance. He’s hoping for similar results to LW in his kit. We’ll see.

The wood is beautiful, but my ‘nads shrivel at the sight of that black rifle kit, and a chopped Marauder, with most of the air tube left. Ought to shoot rings around the Mrod pistol!

Only thing I don’t care for on it is the collapsible stock. Other than that it’s awesome. 🙂

That is a really nice stock Hoot…. Congrats, it should be a great gun….
another advantage of the 1911 grip frame is that one can drop one of the high end european competition grips on it by Moroni, Null or Rink
Now bear in mind any of these hand crafted grips run $200.00+ but they are as good as it gets.
One issue with the Grip adapters is they as a rule place the gripframe too low for some types of Grips

The Hogue fits fine. This pierce adaptor attaches to the little AR-15 grip stud and essentially creates a 1911 grip frame on the rifle. One advantage to the 1911 that I can see is that there are many wood grip options if people want wood. Between the AR options and the 1911 options there are probably over 100 setups available 😯

Sinceit comes with an ar grip on it, wouldn’t any ar grip fit? I am actually thinking about the good ol’ hogue grip on mine, although that 1911 is bad ass! Although you have many options on custom grips should you go the 1911 route….

Thanks for that suggestion 😀 . I hadn’t thought of that, but it would fit well and open up another world of custom possibilities. The 1911 is another favorite of mine. I think I’ll order one of the pierce units and see how it feels on the rifle. Just another illustration of how you can’t go wrong adopting the AR format. I’m sure people are going to do things with this chassis that I never thought of, and that was the whole idea 😀 I plan to build a few customs based on it, and I’m hoping others do too.

Get a pierce grip adapter and put a 1911 grip on there. That would look great on there 😀

Surprisingly, there’s not that much weight loss, unless you take off some of that steel air tube.
The 14″ barrel, with new frame, might come in a pound or so below factory. Don’t know till it gets chopped.
The real plus is the better weight distribution and change to the center of balance that results in better handling qualities.
