Jerry’s slugs! WOW
I first must tell you I only have 2000 psi in my scuba tank and gun. I could not wait to try slugs so i said what the hell why not. I tried to put a .22 7 ring .217 52grain slug in and shoot. I thought way too tight! I am anxious so foorced in with thumb. I let it rip! I have a very thick wooden backstop. I out a 2×4 in front of it and lined up the laser. Well smack in to the 2×4 and right thru and stuck in the carpet (front of trap has thick carpet doubled over). dug slug out deformed real nice just a smashing effect making it larger but no loss of mass. I said well thats pretty impressive for the amount of air i have in tank. I said why not try the .218 7 ring 52 grain slug. I said no way it will fit! I tried my thumb no luck! took a srewdriver handle and psuhed in! Gotta shoot it now! Get the F outta here is all i can say! thru the 2×4 , two layers of thick carpet, one 5/8 ” compressed board and a 1/4″ plywood I have behind the backstop!
The pellets are friggin crazy! this thing will dust anything you brain shoot! I have not done any accuraccy tests but if they are decent this brings your .22 condor to a new level. I will shoot over chrono when i get more air. I am set p for kodiacs pretty much wide open and they turn in about 1035 ft per sec normally. will see what slugs do hope accuraccyis as good as penetration! I honestly think a coon, fox, coyote would not stand a prayer with a head shot!

What Condor setup has been tried?
‘Not Accurate’ doesn’t mean anything without providing the FPS?
If accurate, what was the average FPS?
I may not be a great shot yet, but I do have a Chrony and use it for my testing.
Hell don’t be discouraged yet, haven’t seen any body change there gun around , or vary velocity,
I have tried some pellets that were terrible, until i found the velocity that they liked.
Also i had bought some gamo pellets that were sized smaller than regular, and they shot terable.
.214 head , .223 skirt accurate pellets,
.206 head , .220 skirt bad unaccurate pellets

Mixed results, ARGHHHH! I hate mixed results! What on earth possesed me to experiment with .22 I don’t know but if it was beer, I’m gonna stick to whiskey!
I really don’t know what to do with the .22 project. It has eaten up more time and money than can be recovered I think. Two out of three of the last testers reported poor accuracy and one reports accuracy that might be adequate for specific purposes. I think I’m going to go refund the test dollars and then take the mold and drag it behind the truck for a week…
I was happy with my groups at that rande. the slugs left clean holes and did not tumble. two of the three groups were under and inch. the third was under an inch and a half. This was laying down in the back of my truck with a fleece jacket thrown over a case of water. not ideal conditions for tight groups. I would say anything within 40 yards would be toast! The slugs also did some damage to the 5/8 plywood and slammed into thr dumpster i used as a backstop. the slugs flattened out completely and retained what appears to be most of thier mass. I can put on a scale this weekend but they caused friggin damage and would penetrate any animal i would think of trying them on. They did well in my clay box as well. penetration is far better than extra heavy kodiacks. i have more testing of course other wieghts and sizes. i would order more jerry!
Send me your address, and I’ll mail you the rest of the ones I have left. Perhaps your barrel likes them…my two barrels just couldn’t get such groups.

not complaining but they are tight. the .218’s I could not get in with my thumb. I was wondering the same thing Jerry. Someone here is alot smarter than me , what is the actual bore size on the .25 and the .25 pellet? tighter or looser tolerances than the .22?? Don’t woory Jerry those suckers will bench tested at 50 yards. My findings will be honest and open. I am no benchrest shooter but have a couple guns I can count on for sub 1 inch groups at 100 yards so we should get a good idea what they can do. Groups are really subjective is one thing I have noticed. I have 3 17hmrs and everyone says they all shoot thiers into less than an inch at 100 yards. None of mine consistently do that. do I get a nice group once in a while yup, every day at the range they do that nope!
I am thrilled to be testing them out. How else can we make things better, thats waht this site is about pushing the limits thats why do not shoot a red rider! 😈
As of right now, I have initial reports from 2 of 3 testers that the accuracy was not good. I should have held that info until Slayer got his own results lest there be any influence on his expectations but since we’re not doing a double blind medical study…I let it slip.
The slugs are a pretty close scaling of the .25s so I don’t know why they are not performing as well or even close. We’ve seen the .25s print many groups that were very tight and even better than Kodiaks. I was hoping for something at least close but have been stymied so far. It might just be that we need to try .219 or even .220 for the sizing…I don’t know. Nobody has complained that they are hard to load (and the .25s are) so maybe we just need to up the size.
Then again, our scaling was on length and I know that’s not all there is to bullet dynamics…
I was not planning on shooting anything soon. I never even sighted them in at all. Shot them from 15 feet across chrono. I have hunted for 40 + years and do not take unethical shots. If I can sight them at 15 yards I will get within 15 yards of something and whack em! if I cannot keep a reasonable group they will be made for destroying tin cans of mailboxes or something in my dads back yard.

Yes an airgun with a little kick! shocked me when I shot it. I am sorry did not go to a place I could air them out yet but will do next week end I hope! My clay trap did stop the slugs. I have 1/2 plywood on the back and it was not marked up at all. I have about 6-7 inches of clay in a plywood box. I need to kill something with one of these slugs , I am now on a mission!

I think Jerry has gone “back to the drawing board” with these as we have disovered they are lacking in accuracy. By all means test them out…but I would not hunt with them. It would not be “responsible” or “humane” as the shift in poi was very unpredictable.

I tested at the speeds that jerry asked me too which is maxed out for my gun and then i also slowed them down and also did it with different fill pressures trust me i did all my testing above the call of duty jerry should be getting the targets and charted stuff in the mail any day now i hope
his pellets look perfect they fit well i just dont get it im really hoping he dont trash the project that would suck these pellets will cause serious damage on anything it hits
