E-TAC problems…SOLVED….
actually the problem im having is the check valve in the fill nipple…..it either stays closed so i cant fill the tank or it will open and then not close back up when i try to bleed off the scuba tank….I am opening the bleed valve quickly so its a “rush” of air in an attempt to get it to close….I feel like a noob with this question but ive ran both my tanks down to 1500psi trying to get this to work… 👿

30+hrs and no bleed down…..I’m calling it good..thanx for all the helpful advice guys.
I think this is gonna work….I checked it this morning before I left for work and at 14hrs after the second top off fill its still holding steady….if I go 24hrs I will consider it a success…

all rite here it is….i put it in a nd filled the gun and she’s still holding with no bleed down (as of yet)….
the little white piuece is teflon that i turned down to be the new seal/piston in the fitting…it acts like the talon valve where it just jams itself into the hole in the fill nipple to seal its self… 😈
(sorry for the blurry pic…i used my phone to take the pic)….here you can see it assembled with a piece of .05 303s filler rod used as a stop to keep the piston contained , this allows me to just hook up and fill and not worrie about how fast and i no longer have to worry about the piston shooting off into the tank or the o-ring being lubed well enough to slide back in freely…. 😈 so all in all this is exactly what i wanted…. an idiot proof check valve…Greg

I’ve come up with an idea for a new check valve for the fill nipple…I’m gonna give it a go tomorrow when I’ve got some extra time….if it works I guarantee that I will share the idea with you guys and MM…. 😈
me and a freid of mine had the same problem 🙁
the problem is now solved with a small piece of aluminium tube, and the spring of a ball point pen, beneath the foster.
the e-tac is great don’t want to miss it for a day 😀
the foster on ours did suck though.
i understand that he uses diferent fosters now.

Actually it’s not that bad doing the unscrew of the tank to fill, it’s just the timing shims that make it more of a hassle
There has gotta be a better self checking fill nipple
And again I probably fucked it up overthinking the whole thing

Saw- i too am thinking of modding the fill nipple to restrict the movement of the check valve in it… 🙄
Just go to the plumbing dept in your local hardware store and get some silicone plumbers grease. It’s o-ring safe.
I have never heard of this with any of his products. 😕 The check valve may be defective.
Get in contact with MM, he will do anything and everything to help. At least that is the reputation i’ve seen in the past. Good guy.
Luckily I had a plug to bypass it.

Well I couldn’t take not shooting my baby any longer….I am writing this to let those who are interested know that they need to get in contact with M.M. and as of 4PM PST when I got home from work their was STILL no bleed down..Greg
