Sorry Crow. I miss typed. Nope, It isn’t thta good! 👿

And Old Men have a “LOT” more practice! 😈 😉

I’m a “Born Again” Independent.

I support voting out ALL incumbents. 11/02/2-10

I believe in legalized medicinal herbs, bingo, electric bleachers, death penalty enforcement no more than 12 months of conviction, right to use deadly force to defend yourself, the right to imprison and hang politicians for proven misdeeds and misuse of power of office, mandatory slave labor for prison inmates, one strike and your out for child molesters, 30 days mandatory vacation for large businesses, and the right to seize all assets of White Collar criminals (same as RICO) to deter misuse of private corporate greed.

I am just to the right of Mongo, Despot Ruler of the planet Cygnus X, and Attila the Hun.

Don’t get unsettled by my remarks. Sometimes I just kick up the dust to see which way the wind blows.

Kindly ‘Ol Uncle Hoot 😯

“I could take Attila in a fair fight, provided I could ‘nut’ the sum ‘bitch before he threw his first punch!”

Hunh?

Nope…

American Realist.

Can’t stand Dems or Repubs, at lest the last 40 years of each version. I believe in democracy as a theory but understand what we have isn’t even close. If being a democrat means trying to take the right to bear arms away from citizens and give all the money to the lazy then I am far from that spot. If being a republican means being a bigot and a constitutional destructionist then i’m far from there too.

Like I said, I vote as an American Realist.

Your not going to change this country by voting in the very same parties that destroyed it. 😉

I am American.

Neither of those parties are even close… So no, I am not a Democrat or a Republican, I can’t in good conscience be be either and consider myself an American who is for protecting the constitution…

So what kind of constitutional destructionist are you inclined to follow? I’m guess in the part that wants to destroy the freedom of religion and the first amendment…

PS: Why did they quit making half dollars? They were more useful than pennies. Further, a penny costs more than a penny to make. Why did they make every single dollar coin the same size of a quarter, give or take 1/8″”?

You almost went blind you should know.

If all the coins were the same then blind people would not be able to count their change. Just like they get ripped off now because ALL of the bills feel exactly the same. Blind people MUST trust people to be honest (yep, like that is going to happen) to give their correct change or remember EXACTLY how the bank gave them the bills.

Nobody can tell the difference between a 100 dollar bill and a one dollar bill without the use of sight.

A penny is worth $0.005 in metal value, where as a quarter is almost $0.05 cent of metal, so a quarter costs ten times as much for the materials alone. Why do you think the new pennies are zinc and not copper… 😉 😉 😉 😉

For the Treasury pennies are the biggest profit maker in terms of currency and that is why they mint a few billion pennies each year and also why they will NEVER go away.

The Treasury pays face value for the coins and paper currency.

Check out the true costs of the metals compared to the face value of the coin.

Are you a Democrat?

I have 3 17 hmrs and one 22 mag. My 22 mag was bedded trigger work done and tried two scopes to match 17 hmr accuracy. Did not happen. I do not have the tack driver 17hmr that alot of people seem to have but I can tell you all three 17hmr’s outshoot the 22 mag most days. 22 mag has an advantage with heavier bullets. The accuracy difference for me is minimal when you are talking hunting accuracy. I like my 22 mag! ( I know that defies logic I just like that gun)

so knife would 2/4″ of an inch be 1/2″

nice shooting by the way
im thinkin of getting my ruger single six chambered in hmr for a fun gun type thing

2/4″ is Ameri-metric for 0.5″ 😆

You got to love those bull barrels!

The standard Savage is about as accurate a barrel in a factory gun you can find, and it is inexpensive.

That is a super impressive grouping at 100 yards. I’m thinking Knife has to be considering whether to place the shot in the pupil of the animal, or just go through the ear canal. Depends on his mood I guess.

The real point here is don’t screw around with older men. An old snake can kill you just as fast as a young one, because they’ve had a lot of practice.

Why did they insist on putting a woman on the coins? Susan B. Anthony??? and Sasquatch???

Idiots!

Man at 100 yards they only had power to penetrate the sticker 😯 😯 😯 😆 😆 😆 Haha 2/4″ lol!

You put 5 shots between your brother in laws eyes? 😯

I have both. The .17 will shot a 1/4 group at 100 yds! It’s a heavy bbl. by Douglas.

I have killed a boat load of fox and a few cyote’s with it. Several at slightly over 150 yards. The between the eye and ear shot will put them down “Right Now”!

The .17 is much more accurate than any .22 mag. The tolerances of .22 Mag. ammo just isn’t that good. It was one of the prime reasons for developing the .17 in the first place. The obtain a truly accurate rim fire.

The CCI Hollow point is the most accurate in just abut all guns. It uses a match type/varmint type bullet. The Ballistic tip is less so. About 3/4″to 1 1/4″ at 100 for me. but it will penetrate deeper. Especially at close range. There are several types of heavier bullets available for them as well for heavier varmints. The standard load is a 17 grain bullet. I have seen 20 grainer’s, and I hear there is one heavier, but I have never seen it.

5 rounds of .17 at 100 yards. 10 mph side wind.

Mike[/img]

At a measured 100 yards, I shoot half-dollar sized groups from a sitting position and forearm rest. Savage bolt action rifle with a 10X scope.

There are two kinds of slugs for the HMR, the hollow point and the poly tipped.

I wouldn’t hesitate to take on a coyote at 100 yards. Head shot with the hollow point, and chest shot with the poly tip.

Just my thoughts on the round. It’s a little pisser and I like it much better than the .22 mag I owned previously.

I would think of the hollow point as an explode on impact round, and the poly tip as a penetration round.

My asshole brother-in-law laughed at my ctc spread at 100 yards, until I tore out the target group and placed the five shots between his eyes.

I explained to him…”It’s all about perspective!”

Hoot 😯

.22 Mag has more power up close. If you look on the internet at downrange FPE, the .17 HMR quickly catches up to the .22 mag when it comes to FPE. Even with the BEST BC’d .22 mag bullet, the .17 HMR soon surpasses the .22 mag in FPE. The .17 HMR seems to be more accurate in a wider variety of rifles than the mag.

Again, the .22 mag holds the outright FPE within a certain amount of distance but again, the .17 HMR quickly catches up and surpasses.

If you are gonna shoot out to 50-75 yrds, the mag wins in FPE.

I like the .17. I would have no second guesses about taking out a yote with it, but i would keep em at HEADSHOTS only. Very fragile bullet

quote rob3dr:

For pest control, the .17 HMR or HM2 is a great little round, but if you plan on going after coyotes at any range, the 22Mag is going to be the better choice of the two.

Another round you may look at that will do well for all the above and shouldnt kill you too bad on ammunition, especially if you reload is the 22 Hornet

Unfortunately i cant shoot center fire. were i will be shooting.
