Alittle help on some 100yd shooting
So i went to the range and did some shooting with the condor. Here is the problem,i cant shoot the paper worth a shit. I was shooting shotgun shell bottoms and gatoraid caps all day long but i cant print a paper target to save my life. its a condor 24in .22cal baracudas at 1070-1130fps 300psi fill 115gram hammer factory spring .050 TH setting PW on 2 also tried slowing it down more than what i have posted polished barrel inside and out polished frame internals

It’s a learning process of what not to do at the range. I was measuring off my target distance with a 100 ft. tape. Nothing to hook it to so I hooked it on my rifle sitting on bipod on the bench. Who’d a thunk the wind blowing a 100 ft tape could drag a rifle off the bench. I just happened to be at the wrong end of a 100 ft tape to think I could catch it. It hit like a dead fish.
Once I got the money for a new scope I put a WHOLE LOT OF PRESSURE on it and now it works pretty good. It’ll make a good spare.

beta blockers…..muscle relaxants(flexeril, soma etc)….benzodiazepines(diazepam, clonazepam etc)….all considered doping when shooting along with a whole bunch of other stuff…..most of them not painkillers…..
muscle relaxants does just that, it relaxes your shot
benzo’s generally removes anxiety and also acts as a relaxant, so it will improve your shooting unless overdone, in which case you’d loose concentration and rather go take a nap
both slows you down….which can be beneficial for target shooting where you have all the time in the world….but in fast action, or traffic will work against you…it is considered being under the influence…just something to think about on the way home from the shoot !
with my bad back and claustrophobic when in airplanes….i have had all of the above prescribed to me…..and i knew they where doping….so of course i have tried…didnt do shit….im still a lousy shot….medium painkillers like norco and vicodin (both has an opiate derivative in them somewhat like morfin), tenses me up like shit so that actually made it worse….
tylanol, and ibuprofen aint gonna do squad for ya…medically….maybe if you think it will, groups will actually tighten….but now that you have read this it prolly wont LOL
medecine appart…..highpower scope magnifies your movements and you might be over reacting to them or timing your shot wrong….sometimes its the rifle…my crapid i can shot clay 3″pigions, and their pieces with all day….but asking it to group at 50 yards bahhhh
get a friend, wife or kid to try the rifle…..
also a shotgun shell or piece of clay pigion often present a larger target than you would want a group to be…..and since your just shooting for fun it more relaxing for you, than to put 5 consecutive shots on paper…it does for me….ill get 2 shots into the same hole…then i start to think too much about it and third will be a flier and the 2 last will prolly group by them self…but thats a thing you can work on with practice
How did you bend a scope?

Shake your scope. Any thing loose? Look inside it with a flaslight. Do the lens look to be in proper alignment? Or has it been bent slightly?
I bent one scope and it was dead on on high power but off paper anything less.
You know RJ, there are people who would be amazed with a 2 1/2″ group at 100 yards using a “pellet gun”. It sounds to me like you are in the road to tighter groups.
The only way to shoot sub 1″ @ 100yds is to first believe that you can….
Shoot a few groups without giving a crap and see how it goes. Try to stay on
the bullseye until 1/2 sec after the pellet hits…. Be the pellet…lol Use the force.

I shoot using 4-6X on my scope PB im using feeler guages to measure my TH and at 30-50yds im shooting 3/8in groups all day just at 100yds i cank kill a paper target to save my life but ive never shot at this distance before with an AG today i shot 300pells and only got a best of 2.5in
I think with his formula’s we would all be laying in a field looking up at the stars wondering where the F we were at, and then die!

Thanks Lurker! That is a very honest admission that takes guts and integrity to make. Kudos to your honesty. That story will definitely save many an unsuspecting shooter the pain of that “OH SHIT!” moment when you realize that your rifle is on its way to the ground at 9.8 meters per second squared and there isn’t anything you can do about it. Terminal velocity sucks! 😥
