+24" barrel?
Would there be anything to gain besides weight and length with a .25 barrel longer than 24″?

When I first joined the TAG I seem to remember someone having a 34″ barrel.
I had a .25 LW poly’
It did not like pellets.
Any pellets. 😆
They’re coming from Lothar Walther so they can do it. Thanks for the other information.
Anyone have an opinion on standard or polygonal rifling?
Would you trust them to do or should I see if someone here would? I will need a moderator made for it as well so I hope someone might have some time coming up all though I think it will take weeks to get the barrel. Also do you know if the barrel can be cut off or would the rifling be specific for a 30″. I ask, because I will have 4 left over.
Trust who? Where would you be getting it from? If its a reputable dealer who regularly crowns barrels then sure, if not plenty good guys here. Its not exactly rocket science, all you are doing is getting a regular finish at the very end, the very last contact point on the projectile. The actual bit you can see is only there to protect the muzzle, what people commonly call the crown, be it a dish or stepped etc.
You would have an additional 4 barrels? Yes, they can be cut, but there is only one choke per 30″ barrel. You could cut one 30″ to say two 15″ but only one would have the choke.
Pab,

If you don’t have the means to crown it yourself, then get them to crown it and hope they do a decent job.
Standard air rifle barrel twist is 1/16.
You’ll still need to get the breech area machined down and bushings made.
Well I think its worth 100fps. Any ideas on the twist and rifling I should and do I have them put crown on it. Any help from someone who has ordered barrels before would be greatly appreciated.
From my 12″ to 18″ there was almost exactly 100fps increase, so expect 100fps increase over your 24″ barrel.

A 30 in. barrel, some one can figure that out, its like comparing a 18 in. to a 24in. I can give you a ruf guess another 100fps. Man that thing would look like a Dan’ll Boone gun.
Kitchen scale no doubt, 4lb maybe, my scale is rated for 350lbs and takes a solid beating.
I’d like to gain on the 7ring slugs. If I could achieve a descent amount more velocity I would buy the barrel. It’s not knowing is the only reason I have not. I don’t know enough to know what to expect performance wise.
l heavy.
So is mine… my wife complains all the time. 😉
How do you guys tell? Mine broke the fucking scale.
Does size really matter? If the pellet can go supersonic in a 18″ bbl then I’d say there is no real gain to going with 30″ unless you are worried about air consumption as the 30″ will probably use less air to go same velocity; but if that’s not a concern then it’d be a bitch having to carry around a red flag everytime you have to transport the damn thing in your car.

My gun is already frontal heavy.

For pellet, standard is better.
Who know polygonal maybe good with Jerry’s slugs 😆
