Q:

125 yards with Lizzy ( Condor)

Did a little shooting at what I would call long range yesterday and this is what I came up with. Was 125 yards with 25.4 grain JSB. Need some work would like to try to get them all in the 9 ring. would like to see your long range groups and just how you all are getting it done.

Yeah nice groups mamcrackin. When you say difference are you talking about accuracy only? The reason I lube is to keep my barrel clean. I have had no change in accuracy when lubing or not lubing pellets.

Yea Jeff it was rumored that lubing pellets might increase accuracy… I
haven’t seen any increase or decrease either way…. I am watching to see if
not lubing with cause the barrel to lead up and reduce accuracy like more
fliers or FPS reduction…. So far I haven’t seen any changes…

Ok. Keep us updated especially if you see any changes.

Them are some right nice groups there mam-C 😎 those EDguns do it all. Been farting around with my BSA 🙄 and hope to do some 100 yard groups tonight after work if the wind will let me. Did some work on Lizzy to. ( Dont freak Tony dident mess with the good stuff) will give her a run also.

Thanks maw….
Just so people will know… These groups were shot with 18.1gr JSB with no
lube…. I quit lubing the pellets for a while to see if there was any significant
difference…. I can’t see any difference so far.

!00 yard bullseye, good shot!!

Here are some 100yd groups Nebraska from the EDgun… Started out with
some swirling wind (mostly left to right) and then things calmed down…. I
shot these in the prone position off the bi-pod shouldering the rifle…. Some
day I will be able to do the mental thing it takes to keep things tight and
consistent… I know the gun is more capable than this….

And this is the shot that makes you an air gun addict…

now this is what somebody told me once the wind don’t blow in Texas is sucks!!! well maybe that was in Colorado he said that 😆

You’re right, it doesn’t blow because Oklahoma sucks… Same reason Texas
doesn’t slide off into the Gulf.. 🙂

Thanks eddie.

Damn thats some wind! 😯 The wind doesn’t blow that fast here in Ohio but it doesn’t take much wind to push a 15.9g pellet way off at 100 yards. The wind is however always changing speed and direction and is very unpredictable. I love to shoot at long range but it’s not fun if a 6 inch group is the best group because of the wind.

Guys,

He is talking about both, the chipmunk and the woodchuck… The woodchuck with his af rifle and the chipmunk with his S410 when he gets it back from being tuned…

Whatever though, the long shooting is the bomb for me with the air rifles also… I love shooting at long distances with the air rifles… The wind and conditions out here where I am plays a huge roll in the outcome…

Here on Wed. and Thurs. we had winds as much at one time to 62 mph LOL… Not doing any air rifle shooting in that weather with good results here LOL… Hell the dirt hitting you in the face in that weather feels like a pellet from an air rifle LOL…

The very reason I am most interested in Jerry’s slugs also, these large slugs of his should be the bomb for this type of shooting when the weather allows…

Good topic, and great chit chat guys, sign me in for some of this once our weather breaks here…

That’s some good shootin Jeff those longer yards are what makes it fun you get good at 100 watch out 50 yds

UUH, I think he said Wood Chuck. Not Chip Munk. WoodChucks are HUGE!!! 😯

AHHH HAAAA! Yea I was definitely thinking Chipmunk….

Right, the POI change from 98-100yds is approx .75″. So ranging a
target that small accurately will be part of the challenge….
