2009 Shot Show – Booth 310
I just registered for the show, and will be going this Sunday – all day. And yes, I WILL be bringing back pics.
How about generating a list of questions you’d like for me to ask?
Here’s mine:
1. The McMike in-bottle regulator, what gives?
2. Status of the BKL buyout?
3. Why won’t someone make a TRI-Rail specifically for the Condor?
All Replies
Yep and i’ll shit gold in the morning… 🙄
Syn,
Take a look at the new Maurader from Crosman. That looks good.
The regulator is real, they had one installed on a teal Edge at the booth. According to Yvette, it will install on the bottle. It was polished steel and had shallow drill holes around the circumference and added approximately twice the width of the standard valve body.
She wasn’t really too forthcoming with any other details, but did in fact say that shooters are evaluating at the ranges. They’re investing a lot of their resources into the Edge project….
(Wok – they do read the forum, make no mistake about it)
So it’s still the proverbial carrot?
At this point I don’t think it really even exists in mass production form…
PA has had to change their delivery date for the third time and I remember when it said it was going to come out 4-1-2008!!!!!!!!!! That is a year for those at AF that can’t count…
Still testing, well they didn’t but that much effort into the Talon or the Condor because they would have realized that THE FUCKING TRIGGER IS SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!! The frame flexes when touched, something to look forward to with the Edge…
Who is testing it BB? What are they doing to test it, doing a full year of FT championships??
How about you (AF) pull your head out of your ass and release the fucking rifle already! THEN take some of the money your wasting on the Edge and make a trigger for the Talon/Condor that doesn’t feel like the stick shift of a ’41 Chevy… This is a rifle isn’t it? ‘Cause it feels like a pickup truck…
What a total bunch of wet runny crap.
Time to buy something else for FT… 🙄 After all the Edge probably isn’t even competitive and that is why it hasn’t come out, and probably the real reason why they won’t say anything about it…
I had high hopes but swore if they did this again (like they just did) it was going to be over and I would buy something different…
Guess I get to send my money to someone outside the US for a FT rifle that actually exists… 😡
(Yes AF I am sending my money to someone else because you can’t advertise something for two years and never put it on the market, just like that crappy pump you sell, don’t concentrate all your $$ on one product when your other products need serious help).
Please raise your hand if you belong to this CLUB

Hell yeah they read the forum! But do they understand what they are reading?….LOL
Well now maybe they will upgrade their pump!
Very cool Shadoh. I like it. 😀
Before I finished reading your post I was thinking he need an x3 base for that and then I scrolled down and viola! There it was.
Very cool. I really like do it yourself type stuff. 😀
Well, maybe not by “The Machinist”s standards but it does alright. I have often found that folks who look down their noes at others because they believe they are above them often find they have trouble fitting their head through the doorway.
I started with this. A multi machine, lathe, table saw, drill press, built primarily for wood although its very solid, over 500 pounds worth. They do advertize that you can use it for metal milling and turning but I didnt like the “attachments” they offered to do that. For awhile I used a crappy X,Y vise from Harbor Freight. It already uses R8 collets and has a great DC motor. I believe its alot stronger than a mini mill with higher capacities.

Later I bought an import table off an X3 (I think thats it) and cut it up to fit.

Eventually I built a right angle table for the X,Y to mount on that bolts right to the machine making it very solid. The adapter alone weights about 100 pounds. It sitting on the saw table was just to see how it would fit. I also built a frame that bolts to the top of the machine down to the base making the whole thing a giant triangle which made the machine super rigid.
All in all it works well and can still be folded up and stored on the side of the garage. Im a guy on a tight budget raising two kids and a crazy wife that should probably be in prison or an insane asylum. I do what I can with what I have.
Had a long chat with Yvette at the AirForce booth…

Yea, what edward said!
I used to work tradeshows, if you get the guy that says why dont you,,,,
more than twice, you slowly walk them out of the booth as you continue to talk with them, so they don’t notice what you are doing. I bet this will happen at the AF booth as well.
Roger
how about why they do not have .25 cal the condor is well suited for it
Why does my air tank have about 5 threads when they only use about 1.5 of them?
Can’t they just leave the extra threads off the air tank to make it lighter or something? Or better yet, how about they make the rear threaded bushing with threads all the way back like it should be!
And +1 to ask about when the Edge will be released.
Thanks, and take pics!

3. Why won’t someone make a TRI-Rail specifically for the Condor?
Why not make a frame that does not need a rail?
Why continue to make weak trigger bits?
Why the purple anodizing?
Where is the Edge?
BTW I agree on #3 that the rail should match.
Thanks
Walter…
You have a mill ❓
Wok, have you ever met anyone who hasnt been a machinist at one point in their life??? I think after running a shop for 25 years I may have had 3-4 people who came in that didnt know everything there was about running a lathe or mill.. 😆
Hahahah….Not me 😆
I did know Shadoh had a lathe. First time I realized he had a mill.
Lots of homeshop machinist here far more then professional machinist.
I taught myself how to make split cane bamboo rods and then moved on to learning to use a metal lathe and mill. Necessity was the stimulus. I needed parts that I had to make and were not for sale. I think that is how many of us get into the hobby.
Now I am looking at belt grinder and am leaning toward a KMG 😀

I do like what I am seeing… And the price is right…
I really wanted to be able to swap tanks and such with my Talon… 😥 👿
