i went out to the range this afternoon to test the shot string on the 25 cal long cricket, i havent really shot for accuracy yet . i filled the cricket to the line where the green meets the yellow, the pin being half on tellow half on green and started firing down range, this is what i came up with

1OldGuy!!!! I love it! Thanks so much! dwm

Well Sprocket and dwm just to prove you guys don’t know squwat about noise between a Cricket and an Mrod I down loaded a sound meter app to prove it 😀 😎 Holly shit was I WRONG 😳 😳
I placed my Ipad 10 inches to the side and even with the muzzle of both rifles and fired 5 shots… 🙄 😯 The 22 😎 Cricket registered 111 dbs and the 25 Mrod registered 😳 110 for the five shots 😯
Well not to give up yet 😎 I had one more test to do. My Mrop is set up as a BullPup so my ear is right next to all that noise going on inside the Mrod so I’ll just check the noise level back there between the two 😀 😀 😯 😳 Mrod 108 dbs Cricket 109 😯
May not of been the best sound meter out there but sure went a long ways proving I didn’t know what the hell I was talking about 😳 😳 😆
PS I still think the Cricket is quieter 😀 😀

I’ve read every posting I can find on the Cricket, on a number of forums, and the consensus is the gun is quiet. Some say it is the quietest gun they own by a long shot, and some say it is close to being their quietist gun. I’m getting the feeling that there is some variance in how loud they are, and I guess there should be a little since they vary in power from 27-30 foot pounds. I owned a .177 Mrod and that is the gun I now compare everything to. Soooo quiet, but thats not apples to apples.

I’m going to have to agree with FREESPOOL on this, my Standard .22 Cricket isn’t as friendly as my Marauder .22 with both going 880 with 15.9s. The .22 Marauder with a decent tune is a benchmark in that area. I edited this post to add what I forgot and that is the Cricket is very quiet, just slightly behind the .22 Marauder IMHO. The shroud on the Mrod is much longer so it isn’t really an apples to apples comparison.

With all due respect the .22 Cricket is a fairly quiet gun but not as quiet as a Marauder .22 cal shooting at the same FPE. Just my honest opinion- I have owned a few of each.

Wow OldGuy, that’s awesome. I’m going to get a Standard Cricket in .22. I just need to sell another gun to keep the wife happy:)

Really appreciate the info!

dwm I have an Mrod with extra baffles and shroud extension in 25 caliber. All Tonys parts 😀 Compaired to my 22 caliber box stock Cricket the Mrod sounds like a 30 06 going off 😯 😯 😳 🙂 For an Mrod it’s good but not in the same game as the Cricket for noise….. Kalibr has their act together IMHO 😀

Thanks Mater!

dwm,
I will measure the sound level on the weekend and compare it with the air wolf fitted with moderator.

Hey Mater,

Just notice a post you made on Airrifle.co.za on how quiet the Cricket is –
“The Cricket is reasonably quiet, maybe a little bit better than the most of my other toys.” What guns are you comparing the Cricket to? I should just buy one but I’m afraid it will be louder than I’m hoping for… Mrod quiet. I plan to get the standard.

Cheers

Need accuracy information and where can I buy one. I have been waiting for an Edgun for over a year!

Thanks Mater 😉 Superb, there is 46 usable shots. Now after lowering to 920fps it will be more I hope. I think you can get 60 shots from 210-120bar 💡 We will see 😀

Good idea octavius!!!

This string I did last year before adjustment to lower fps setting.

JSB 15,89 SORTED pellets

and ending @

I will do another string at the current setting on the weekend.

Thanks zocoloco 😉 I’m looking forward for another shot strings from 210bar… There will be clearly see how many shots we can get from the crickets .22 .25 💡

quote octavius:

I think IMO is better making shot strings from max pressure 220 bar to 130 approx because it has more predicative information! Who will fill up cricket with 290bar usually? From 300bar bottle it will be max 2 times. Therefore is better for us information how many shots I can get from cricket from “standard” pressure 220-130bar.
It is only my suggestion. I know for test and record is good to know how many shots I can get from 300bar but in the real live is not necessary 😀

Very good point there my friend !!! 😀
