Q:

.22 cal 21.1 gr Kodiaks VS 21.14 gr H&N Baracudas

Switching over to Baracudas from Kodiaks. My groups at 50 yards appear equal but as the psi was dropping the fps made a noticeable 20 fps difference.

Conclusion:
The little weight difference = about 20 fps.
The last of the Kodiaks = 47 fpe
The first of the Baracudas = 45 fpe
I don’t know if the Baracuda would out perform the Kodiaks if the firing order was reversed. I’ll have to revisit this when I get another tin of Kodiaks.

Has anyone else shot a similar or reversed order string with the Kodiaks VS the Baracudas? I’d like to see the data at the point of change.

quote Yellow Ninja:

Beeman doesn’t make anything of their own – they are an importer and distributer who re-brand products or request slight modifications for their exclusive sale and rebrand that.

Like the Webley patriot / Beeman Kodiak – same rifle.

The Kodiaks are made by barracuda – same pellet.

Beeman Kodiak Extra Heavy 21.1 gr is probably the select light pellets from H&N Baracuda 21.14 gr product run. Being slightly lighter Beeman may claim faster speed over the Baracudas. Strangely enough, the 20 fps difference I found in the string above also gave the Beeman Kodiak 2-3 fpe better hitting power. But that may be relative to the sequence. Someone should shoot a string of Baracudas followed by Kodiaks. I didn’t plan on buying any more Kodiaks as I just got about 3 sleeves of Baracudas.
It might be interesting for someone to alternate Kodiaks and Baracudas every other shot in a string of say 20 total.

Weigh 10 20 or 100 of each and see what you come up with.

Same thing I always assumed same pellet H&N makes both of them!

They should be exactly the same pellet.

That’s interesting…when I used to shoot kodiak’s and baracuda’s I got the same velocity and accuracy. I will shoot a few through my Talon and see what I get.
