.22 verses .25 for accuracy
How does the 25 cal stack up against the 22 for accuracy?
I have read on other forums that the 25 is not the most accurate round .
can you fire the .25 from a stock condor with accuracy or does it require a heavier hammer and valve mod to shoot well?
And once modded how does that affect the .22 round? If you were to switch it back? to much power for the .22?
The thing is I dont want to lose any accuracy in leiu of power.

Walt did a bunch of bbl’s up for several of us, and we are just now getting to test them. Most of us received them yesterday. 😀

My .25 barrel for the Condor likes Kodiaks, and only shoots them consistently well. Ive had good grouping with others, but not consistently.
The .22 barrels all like kodiaks, JSB, CPs, and FTS.
Now consider JSB and CPs are not available in .25. Also consider the ONLY sub MOA group my condor ever shot at 100 yards, was with .25 kodiaks. Most .22 barrels seem to favor kodiaks too, mine included.
Ive come close with .22, but never quite surpassing the .25 at long range. Add a bit of wind and the whole game changes. The .25 will outshoot a .22 in the wind every time.
Let me clarify this a little.
My Condor in .25: best group at 50 yards, .275″ 5 shots. At 100 yards, .87″ 5 shots.
My S410 in .22, best group at 50 yards, .232″ 5 shots. At 100 yards, 1.15″ 5 shots.
The thing is, the 410 shoots extremely small groups at 50 yards EVERY time, but the .25 Condor outshoots it at 100 yards quite often. Once the wind starts up, the .25 condor outshoots it at every range.
My .25 barrel was machined and bushed by Tony @ Talontunes. Depending on who makes your barrel, its perfomance will vary and may like different pellets.
Dont make your decision based solely on my experience.

Here are a few pic’s from todays test. It is very gusty, (15-25 mph left to right) and Hot as Hell! 103 in the shade. 😯
the bbl. is no where broken in yet, but each group was better than the first.
Due to the gusty conditions, I only shot the groups at 40-45 yards paced. The first group was shot without scope adjustment from removing the .22 Bbl.
I would say that Walt did a bang up Job! Very little scope adjustment needed. Got to love a good Bbl. and Good Scope. Now if I could just shoot worth Crap!
