I ordered a .25 cal. barrel from Tony, I’ve only done valve mods,do you think I’ll have to get a heavy hammer? I would be happy if I just got low 900’s with the 42gr. pellets

I,m not going to screw my th. clear out cause I want all the downward thrust I can get out of the hammer, but I’m not wanting to turn it down too low as to slam the bottle. I really don’t see any differences between .080 and .1, does anyone else and if so specify new valve, old valve and tank,plus hammer weight.
I doubt you will be disappointed.
My valve is stock, I use a 75 gm hammer and get 900fps easy. With the 85 gm hammer I get about 930fps, but its a bit more consistent with the lighter one.
For what its worth, I dont tinker much with the tophat, but Im sure somebody here will explain the benefits. 🙂

I went thru the procedure the other day and put my tophat at .078, I had a reduction at .075 and increase at .o80 so I just set it inbetween. I recieved my .25 barrel today, from Tony, and I’ll tell you, that thing was polished beyond belief, perfect fit too. I shot it already, but just enough to get the scope settings. I’ll know better tomarrow how good it really is. My last shot was exactly on the money though, 26.2 crow mag. 967fps, 2200lb. fill, pw. set at 5.3. I was also getting 590fps. on co2, the temp. was 70 degrees.
