Q:

.25 cricket shot count

What kind of shot count are you guys getting from your crickets? I have been fiddling with mine and I feel like I get a rediculous amount of shots from this gun. When I got the gun originally it was shooting pretty hot, 955+ with jsb’s. I never really took note of my shot count or recorded any shot strings. I just got it, shot the heck out if it, and took it hunting. I never needed more than a 220 bar fill for an afternoon in the woods. I think 955 is a little too much for my needs, so with a little tweaking, I have her shooting a solid 920. I was at the range last week, and was on my 7th magazine before I thought I might need to refill. To my suprise I was still at 125 bar. I haven’t recorded a whole shot string, just 10 or so shots to get a ball park so maybe im shooting over a huge spread? Seems too good to be true.

You guys wanting to lower the FPS on the ,25 Cricket, Your not wanting to shoot at 100 yards plus right, With the higher PSI it just shoots better at a longer range, I under stand if your shooting 50 yards and under, I have never really counted my shots on my 25 or 22,
I did once fill accidently fill my .22 to 280 bar, I know I shot for a LONG time before a refill , I wished I would have counted the clips…
Both guns are Earnest tuned,
Mike

I try not to fill my cricket over 200 bar at the range, it is VERY efficient under 200. When I head out into the woods I fill it to 230 bar. Others say they fill to 250, mine wastes air at 250 fast and I only have a 44 cuft tank. I did however just pick up a lil shoebox. It’s chugging away in my laundry room right now, my girlfriend already hates it haha. Looks like I had better start setting up a permanent home in the garage.

I also have a 44cf tank and a shoebox. Same fill setup. I haven’t counted how many times I can fill my Cricket with it.. Im guessing a dozen fill ups to 220bar before my CF tank drops below 220bar itself. I live dangerously, stupidly- some may call it, I fill my CF tank to 4,700psi. The first time I used my shoebox, it didn’t automatically shut off until 4,700.. So I didn’t bother adjusting it, I just let it. -save your advice/warnings, Im not the only one who does this.
My Prod bull pup on the other hand, thats my plinker I shoot the hell out of. No way I could count how many fills I could get from my CF tank with the Prod.. the air gun tank calculator from AOA’s website tells me 240 fills!

I get 4 clips from gun at 890 fps. 230 bar fill. I don’t know how much more I could get but I reload gun with air after I empty 4 clips

It’s probably sitting in the Police Evidence room in NJ.

Zonk, that’s just totally mean you big prick. I’ve been having dreams about shooting 1/4″ groups at 100yds once I get my gun back from Uncle Ernie, lol. We’ll see who’s laughing then..hehe

Welcome to the forum kidh. Having come from shooting a Marauder 25 cal to shooting a 25 standard I was blown away by my shot count also. Two magazines shooting high power with the Marauder was about it. I bought my Cricket used and was told it was shooting around 940 fps. After shooting it a few times I ran it through the chrony and it was shooting 990 fps :suprisedn: I filled it to its max 250bar and shot it 55 times before I felt like it was falling off the regulator. I have since slowed it down to around 930 and only fill to 220-230. They are definitely awsome guns.

I thought the max for Crickets was 220 bar?

It is actually 300 max for Crickets… 220-230 just seems to be the max pressure that they operate most efficiently… They seem to “waste” air above that pressure (more bars/shot when tank is above 230 bar)…

Oh duh! I knew that. It’s Edgun that’s 220. 😳

My Cricket .25 shot string
Fill pressure 220-215bar
Average velocity 918fps
Standard deviation 2fps
Total shots- 54 before falling off the regulator.
Could squeeze out more shots with higher fill pressure, but it’s not efficient use of air past 220bar.
