Q:

.257 Talondor

Hi Gents
I am from the UK and I would like to have a .257 Talondor built but where do I start, Would it be ok to start of with a Gun power (Air force) storm/stealth and built from there ? What would be needed to change from standard .22-12ft/lbs to a .257 talondor,

Would the frame be ok ? What valve ?, Barrel/length ?,

And would I need 4500 psi scuba tank.

Many more questions in-coming.

Many thanks Mark

Ha thank you I think I have already pm (Doug) sorry didn’t know his name , when Leupy shop gets going again ill be onto him for a build, can I also ask what scope your using for the .257 build of yours , (Not wanting to copy your build exactly) just some ideas on where I need to be.

Mark

Ole Leupy huh?! I have his jeweled trigger shoe on my gun. He seems to be a GREAT machinest and he has some quality parts. Not a bad choice.

Doug is DYOTAT100 here on the TAG. Just PM him

Brilliant thanks very much I just hope these parts will be ok to be sent to the uk , I have found a custom shop but hes unable to be contacted just yet
( http://www.leupyscustomshop.co.uk) .
All been well I will have him build me one using ( Doug`s ) parts sorry again do you have contact details for this fellow ?

Cant wait to unzip some charlies with a .257

Mark,

The problem is that i don’t have EXACT valving details. Doug does. So you would have to cantact him.

But as far as the basics go.
Barrel: TJ’s 257 caliber 1-14 twist @ 26-5/8″ long. Custom fitted and crowned by Doug
Gun: Talon frame
Trigger: Stock trigger with some polishing of contact points. Also, a jeweled trigger shoe
Bottle: Catalina 53ci bottle with Dougs 257 Condor valve and extension. this is were you have to talk to Doug
Stock: I just added a Mad Dog stock and love it
Barrel Bushing: About a 6″ long solid piece to custom fit the front of the frame
Frame End Cap: Custom fitting piece that matches interior of frame tightly and butts up to the Bushing
Power Adjuster: Stock
Main Spring: Custom one from Doug. You have to ask him the compression weight of said spring
Hammer: Barrel Riding hammer in brass. Again, you have to ask Doug the weight of said hammer.
Cocking Knob: Custom knurled one from Doug

Thanks to be honest I thought it was just a case of adding new parts, I would like to have something similar to the one you have or as near as but with added sound moderator.

would it be possible to get the full spec`s of your .257 Tac driver Talondor via pm

cheers Mark

You need a good machinist 1st and foremost.

Someone who can totally transform your gun. Unlike many caliber changes with Airforce guns, this is no EASY swap. No hi flow valve and barrel swap. Its way more to it. At least in my gun. ITS CUSTOM from front to rear.

You can contact Doug Noble or DYOTAT100 here on the forum as he built my gun. He is the best start

Thank you

Somone with more experience should help with this
