Q:

2nd Edgun R3M Has Landed In Iraq

hello guys,,,

after been trying more than 2.5 months finally this time i could import an Edgun R3M .22cal STD for my friend,

Monday early morning the rifle landed in airport in my X-city … and i was not there ,, my Father-In-Low went and after 3.5 hours could to get it out from the security and custom department and section,,,

i ordered everything for my friend and also some thing for mine,,, like a single shot breech and spare air valve rod,,,and some edgun pellets ,,,

the rifle came in a very good wooden box as usual…

then i loosened the screws and start opening the box and all ,,,first took out pellets ,,,

then the Edgun ,,,wow,,,what is the beautiful walnut stock,, ,,, my uncle Eduard,,, i want the same for my Edgun as well,,, i am happy that my friend will get such a nice stock,,

2 air valve spars ,, nice wrapping ,, Eduard has sent me as a service part and i haven’t paid for these,,, thanks Ed,

a huge o-rings and set screws ,,,i haven’t paid for that as well ,,,, thanks Ed,

i was wondering to know what is inside this envelope????

it was an Edgun T-Shirt gift from Eduard,,, thanks a lot eduard,,, the size is perfect and i am thinking from where you got my size????

2 single shot breeches ,,, very nice and i will try to spot the differences between R3 & R3M …later ,,

7 spare mags ,,, these mags are all aluminum,,,

and the gun has a mag accommodation and it is R3M

and testing started ,,,gun came with 190 bar fill,,,

and i am happy that the stock also has two screws ,,,

my Father-In_low was checking the target results,,

below target is one shot at 48.5 meters and after scope zeroing,,, the gun/barrel is not cleaned ,,,just took out from the box and shot ,,,

i will post more details in next few days,,, i will try to get more details ,,, but i took 50 shots from 205 bars down to 135 bar ,,,the first shot was 910 FPS and the 50th shot was 855 FPS ,,, which is not good for me… i will try to fix the shot consistency by adjusting the HST ,,, and let see what is the result,,, 🙄 🙄

thanks for reading ,,,

Thanks Ur…even I forgot that this matter has been discussed here…and looks like everything is clear. .. doesn’t need to say anything. ..

If you look at the hammer pin on the old breech and new breech. .and old magazine and new…you will see that new breech and magazines have been modified. ..and I believe that new breech is more smooth than old ones. .. I tried both…

Where the FU¢K was this thread when I needed it. Could of saved me grief, time and money. None the less, lesson learned and I will figure out how to polish as well 🙂 I might not be as good but I’ll manage. Thanks for sharing this.

Trust me Hemn going from multi shot to single shot feels like butter…even tho it takes a little force to get that hammer to lock….

That’s why I couldn’t stand the fact I paid $400 for a multi shot and it felt like gears grinding….but after the mod it feels much better and I can only imagine it will only get better from here.

Still it’s a shame I needed to work on something new that could have been smoother from the factory.

quote Urgirlinmyjetta:

Ok after polishing and applying lube, I assembled the breech and placed it onto the matador and I must say… Cocking the gun is 80% smoother than it was stock….I still get a rough pull here and there but most of them feel like the single shot breech….hopefully with more shots the action just get smoother.

great job you have done,,

i have converted my R3M to R3 and installed the SS breech,,, i can say there are a huge different in pulling force between them,,, the SS is really nice and i liked too much,,, i might not covert it again until the winter (my hunting time) when my lovely starlings will come back again,,”God Willing” and i will try to round off the head :suprisedn: as well,,, i think all heads must rounded off from factory  :biggrinn: :biggrinn:

the serial number and logo has painted on the left side on this breech,,, strange never seen this ,,, 💡 💡 💡

I think you definitely need to push few hundred shots ,,, my mags has friction on both side see below pic,,

Just finished polishing the head of the (insert name here) part that cocks the hammer.

nice polish job.. your are obviously a man who has polished a lot of head.. 😆

I you have a close look at one of Hemn’s pics you can see Ed actually already did this mod himself on the gen 2 R3M cocking pin.. the radius is no quite as large as yours but it is smother than the almost square cut pin of the first gen R3M.. if you ran the gen 1 dry without any lube it would actually grind a groove in the hammer face.

Just finished polishing the head of the (insert name here) part that cocks the hammer.

I just finished rounding out the head with my grinder…now to smooth it out and polish it….I’m also going to polish anywhere this cocking part makes contact….cause the grinding I’m getting every time I try and cock the hammer is too hard…..I can’t wait 1500 shots like ed asked…

That’s Ernest’s mods not mine.

I would do the same if it was my only gun..

quote Adham:

I know that Ernest modified it and round the end… I would like to get one for my gun…
Do you guys think that Ernest will make them again???

Damn…how do you round that off so smoothly and even

I’ll try that right now….I remember a thread where Ernest showed how he rounded out a part and said he was happy he did that and he was happy about it cause it made the cocking way more smooth…but the pics were removed.

Ok so smooth when in your hands but rough when on the gun. Did you put grease on the hammer as well? where the bolt catches onto the hammer to pull it back? Ernest mentioned to do this in one of his old videos. I’ve been doing it since and seems to help. Once in a while the cocking does get a little hard so I would re-apply grease on it and that seems to help.

It came lubed and I added some on the parts that felt rough…when I have the breech in my hand and cycle it…the bolt and indexing are smooth but when I put the breech on the gun it’s like metal grinding rough.

And ps my hand is healed!!!!
