30 cal Standard Matador Shot String – 500 Total Shots On Gun
Factory setting String after 500 shots on gun.
I need the experts on this one. 😯
I went from 220 down to about 120. There are 33 shots on the tape. There is the wild jump at the end with the 8 high shots so reg is high for the 840s and maybe about right for 870. What do you think?

i like your efforts, your strings will be better day after the day,,, just keep going,,, you know better than me… not only you but most US guys have a good skills on how to tune his air guns… an air gun, PCP or any other types are not a new thing for you …. you have a long story and great chronicle with all rifle types…not like us, we only have a stupid and shit info about an AK47 which we have been used it for killing ourselves over a couple hundred years…
Please, just think and consider if you were me (i am not sure if i wrote it correctly, sorry for my poor English), degas your 30cal Edgun take out the reg, adjust it then get it back to the air tube and assemble the gun, refill the air reservoir then go for chrony test and not satisfied, again do the same procedure again… again,,, but your refilling would not be from the air cylinder, because you have only the hand pump, …… this is me… that is why i cannot do the reg adjustment,,, poor me 😥 😥

Now that you have HST maxed out. Try to run another string from 240 bar fill.
Well the boys aren’t lying. The dark side of the regulator sux. Had to back it off a few turns and start over. I now have it back to 875 fps so I think I will quit. A regulator adjustment will be necessary to further improve. 😐
1/4 turn put it on the dark side of the regulator. Velocity down to 860 fps. Backing off to 1/8″ turn in. May be stuck with a regulator adjustment. 😯

Reading his string, and correct me if I’m wrong but it looks like the reg is set high enough to give the 885 like I am looking for so if HST gets him there and the end of string swell is not present then, this means the two are working in unison and optimized for that speed, so he has hit pay dirt, correct ??
Bring HST to 880. Filling up to 240 bar and run another string.

I adjusted the HST up to about 870 or so. (My .25 Standard Matador hammer sounds louder than this one does even after turning it up a bit) 28 shots were fired (with about 27 good ones) I think the shot count is ok. The string still says the regulator is still up just a bit so I can either adjust the HST up a little to get to maybe 880 or adjust the regular down a bit when I get the balls to rip it apart. 25 shots at the highest velocity possible is the goal. I can fill it to 240 and get maybe 2 more shots so up we will go but only about 10 fps (1/4 turn). It’s getting flatter. 🙂
Average velocity was 871 fps for 75 fpe. 880 fps will be 77 fpe. I have no clue the effect on accuracy. Comparison to 22 LR subsonic.
(.22 LR Sub Sonic 38 gr 1000 fps for 84 fpe)
After 25 shots you are ready for a break. This thing is cutting the brush down out in the woods. 😀 It’s quite the hunting machine and very quiet (except for the pellet impact)

Hemn – thanks for the kind words. Actually tuning is fun. It’s work that stinks and it is interfering with my hobby. 🙂 I have a Shoebox compressor and two 44 cu ft 4500 psi SCBA tanks so plenty of air. I sold my hand pump after two weeks of pumping years ago. 😛
I may get the new Raptor compressor if it proves itself over some time.
My 30 cal is getting really close to a nice string…. What a great gun. Quiet, small, light, accurate and powerful. Not bad looking if I say so myself.
