From Full 250 BAR to about 118 BAR
QUESTIONS:
1) Where did it drop off Regulation ❓
2) Does the Regulator setting change if the HST is changed ❓
3) Is there a Sweet Spot RANGE within the overall Regulated Range ❓

I did make it to the range yesterday. Zero’d the scope good but not great on the shooting. 👿
I kept pausing to warm my hands.
And I had to share the range with one other shooter.
I’ll have to get used to the cold again but I love the snow. 
There is a large tree outside my kitchen window that squirrels climb to look in 😯
They are so close there is no way to sneak the window open. I’d have to leave the window open forever and shoot through the screen like a neighbor does with break barrel pop guns. He has kept the squirrel population under control.
Another neighore, wife of an ass’t. prostitutor, has already complained to the sheriff because she saw me carry an air rifle out to my car. She has a masters degree in drama and can’t get any job. She’s trying to earn the neighborhood academy award for stupid. I would nominate her but she reminds me so much of my homely 1st wife that I want to PUKE ❗

i got to the range this evening. The wind was supposed to die down around 5PM BUT DIDN’t. 29+ MPH AT 135° from the target.
Damn, I used to shoot til 7:30 PM before they FUX’d the clocks back an hour 👿
I got off 22 shots attempting to re-zero the scope for the REG turned down from 145+ BAR to about 110 BAR.

Initial 3 shots were 1 1/2″ HIGH 😕
I think the elevation will hold but will tweek the windage next time before shooting for groups.

How much force does it take to pull the regulator out forward?
I wasn’t looking forward to pulling the entire cylinder. Access via the gauge end seems more elegant, but amazing the o-rings keep on sealing after being dragged so far and over the threads.
Please, still need to write up your technique. The SniperQTY video gives no details of his loop tool.
Oh, that’s right. I’m such a prolific note taker I sometimes don’t get back to anyone project for a few days. Thanks for reminding me. I’ll go over it and finish it by morning. I’m often awake until 2:30 AM or so.
The short of it is to remove the bleeder ballbearing to release the vacuum and then just steadily pulling until the reg slowly begins to move. Then slow down. There was plenty of grease in there to protect the o-rings. When it gets to the threads I just wiggle the reg while working over the threads. I’ll show a picture of the clothes hanger hook I made but kris said some don’t have the hole to hook it in. The 1st time I removed the air tank like kris said he had to and going slow I didn’t scratch it but it is close tolerences.
The business end of the wire is by the breech. The bend is already there. I did file and sand the end just in case it gets against the tank wall.
You won’t see the hole looking inside the tank. You might carefully probe the brass end just above the big silver 17mm lock nut.

Now I have to get out to the range. It appears to be holding the reg and hst adjustments. So if it groups nearly as good as it did with the reg over 145 and fps of 910, it well be done. Still has some twang but not as long and annoying. The muzzle report is noticeably less too. The one shot that spiked up 60 fps looks bad on the magnified graph but at this level it shouldn’t be a problem for me.
To go any lower with the reg setting would probably require a lighter hammer spring.
Luckily I can easily pull my reg out without removing the air tank. As little as 1/16 of a turn has a lot of effect on the setting. Mine was so high to begin with that I turned it 1/2 turn. Just 1/4 turn was to much also. My digital calipers from HF crapped out a while ago so I bought the cheapest mechanical set and they at least gave a ballpart measurement that came in handy except the time I forgot to use them. So I was real lost twice but you and kris and a couple others encouraged me and got me back on track.
Regulator about 110 bar. Pretty flat all across the regulated range. I think that’s about ideal HST for your regulator setting.
How is she grouping?
I have plotted the FPS using two different scales.
The top line is using range 0 – 900 and shows the true significance of variability since it doesn’t chop off the bottom of the plot.
The 2nd line (inset in middle) uses a different scale. It shows FPS in the usual “stock market” magnified view that exaggerates differences but doesn’t give a sense of how significant those changes actually are.
Bottom line is Bar pressure.
If the gun is grouping well, I’d say bravo. You’ve increased shot count and reduce wear/shot.
Although dropping from 930 to 860 FPS seems a big drop, Chairgun calculates only a 1.5 foot lb decrease on a target 50 yards out.
Not a bad trade off in my book, if you are still hitting the target.
It’s all down to how accuracy is maintained at the lower velocity.
I’ve been amazed at how non-pellet picky my Vulcan has been, but it does group a little tighter with Air Arms Diabolo Field .22 Cal, 5.51mm, 16 Grains, Domed.

Zonk, I have security cameras etc. but livivg here for the past 22 years I do have 3 good neighbors that we all sort of look out for one another. I’d love to have a place like yours but I wouldn’t be comfortable going out to eat, shopping, or to the range. Then again I wouldn’t have to go to the range.

That is my hot rod 11 mpg GMC Van. That camera looks out the kitchen bay window recording down the street. It is one of three that I can swap out to mount on an air rifle for IR night vision. I’ve got all the pieces, just haven’t finished mounting them. No hurry, I don’t have a place to use it yet. Maybe I should move to S.E. Missouri where I had planned to retire. 💡
There are the hills of the Ozark’s and the New Madrid faults. Always something that makes a decision difficult.
