93 Shot String from .22 Vulcan
From Full 250 BAR to about 118 BAR
QUESTIONS:
1) Where did it drop off Regulation ❓
2) Does the Regulator setting change if the HST is changed ❓
3) Is there a Sweet Spot RANGE within the overall Regulated Range ❓

Yesterday I tried the 15.9 and 25.4 JSBs.
I did not mess with the adjustments for the 18.1 grain JSBs.
15.9 gr averaged 898 fps
25.4 gr averaged 719 fps
Today I ran the 18.1 gr. JSBs from FULL 250 BAR FILL.
I have no grommets or heat shrink on my hammer spring. The spring and hammer are polished as the only mod to the mechanism BUT I got 1 Spike in velocite of 60 fps. :angrymob:
Got a lot of shots before it went off REG. Well over 100. 
Like I told Zonk, I’ve been doing so much testing that I had to heat my barrel red hot to pour the lead out :whistle:
Actually I had let it go for a while and it took 4 solvent patches using the patch worm just to get the shinny lead out.

Kris, getting info ftom you and guykuo finally got through to me. I would never have guessed that there is much more to setting up a regulator than an airgun without reg.
adjadck, this .22 Vulcan shot great for me at 910 fps. If it is that accurate at 865 I’ve won this battle

The Vulcan shoots best and is designed tog shoot the 16gr ammo at plus minus 285 mps.
Sir ville, oK, that would be 935 FPS. I’ll give that a try also.

Imo this is the optimum pressure setting for the reg. for max output in shot count n consistency

Here you go… Looks pretty flat.
100 BAR REG
WILL JSBs group well at 865 FPS from my .22 Vulcan ❓ ❓ ❓
REG adjusted about to 100 BAR.
The flattest velocities before going off REG came at about 2 Turns Out from flush of the HST and averaging 865 FPS.
I think this is near the lowest limit of adjustment for the .22 Vulcan with only OEM parts. The last couple 1/4 Turns OUT of HST seemed to slightly increase the velocity. At higher HSTs FPS increased to 873 fps but the ‘curve’ was a slight downward slope.
So, this is a short string from 160 BAR to 95 BAR. Total 55 shots.
Shot 49 was at about 100 BAR.

I’ve been chaseing the wind again. Thought I was making my final adjustment so tried a bunch of HST adjustments. Best i could get out of it was 733 fps and that is with HST turned out 2 1/2 turns.
Retracing all my notes I descovered I turned the reg the wrong way the last time. Wasted a day and a couple hundred more BBs :rofl: On the lighter side winds were gusting to 50 and rained some so I had fun shooting into a 20 gallon barrel of rubber mulch. I’ve got a lead mine there for making .257 cast bullets.

I’m beginning to loose track but have over 2,700 pellets through my .22 Vulcan and all indications were that the REG was set at over 145 BAR or had crept up during break-in. The velocities from full fill were on a gradual decline until off Reg. Trying to eliminate the T-W-A-N-G was only slightly successful and may have induced drops in velocity and a rare 100 fps spike. I had not messed with the REG until it was noted how high it was and after 2,400 rounds.
If I had known about the TWANG I would have put off buying the Vulcan but now that I know how good it shoots I’m glad I bought it when I did in spite of a few adjustments I should not have had to make. Like the disfunctiioning safety, twang, a little bit high noise lever, rough action that needed a little TLC, and a Regulator that was either set to high by the factory or had crept up during break-in.
Yes, knowing how good it shoots and that it needed some TLC to get the most out of it, I’m happy I bought when I did.
By now the factory should have things running smoothly and have their quality control geared up along with production.
Villee, some people over here like to get their fingers dirty. For me, I’d just as soon let someone else do it for me. If I want my fingers dirty I’ll stick them up my ass. YUCK!!!
Seriously – i’m starting to think you guys dive into your guns all too soon. You should have them at the factory settings untill the gun is properly broken in = 1000 rounds or so.
