A good BB tool
The booster pump allows me to take a tank that has as little as 800 psi of air in it and fill my BB to 4500 psi . . Were ever my tank might be . Regulate the 800 psi down to 100 psi with the attached regulator and it no longer needs a compressor to drive it . Jeriod over on Randy’s site introduced me to this pump .The regulator can reduce 10000 psi to as low as 10 psi .Marvin

Yes 1 tank , booster with regulator . I was told that the way you mentioned would not supply enough air to drive the pump very long if at all so I went this way . Your in it this deep spring for a regulator .Marvin

Your post jumped out as I put mine in, does this look doable to you, would I need the regulator if I was just filling the one tank to 100PSI, and the other to 3000PSI. I have three 44 cuft tanks and a Pygmee 69 CU Inch already, plus of course the shoebox to fill them at home before I leave.
Marvin, your running the 100 PSI thru the regulator and the 3000 PSI out of the same tank with the T Correct?

So I think I have it down now.
When I go elk hunting with the Ranger and want 4600 PSI fills for the Ranger and my Pygmee tank, I come equipped with:
The booster unit,
1- 44 CUFT scba tank filled to 3000PSI,
1- 44 CUFT scba tank filled to 100PSI,
And that is all I need to fill the Ranger to 4600.
And if I take one other 44CUFT scba tanks along filled to 4500 PSI to replenish the ones on the Booster, I should be good for many fills.
I think I have everything already that I use on my Shoebox for this and just need to spend $405.00 for the booster plus postage.
So does anybody out there have negative output( no punn) inteneded on this unit or process?

Roachcreek no . Mark has his set up to run off of a compressor by looking at it . Go back up to the top of this thread and read again what I have done to eliminate the need of a compressor or a second tank . And if you can pull a trigger then you can lift the handle on the valve . It is simple and easy . Then your therory would be correct .Marvin

I keep editing this post as i think I am understanding how this is set up.
For the sake of theray, let say I have a Ranger that needs a 4600 fill, the little pump, pumps from a hypothetical 4300 PSI tank and it is connected to the 4300 PSI tank by the black hose that says “Craftsman”, thru the booster which is run by the tank shown which is 1000PSI, and then to the rifle, is this correct?
Can you you use a booster tank that has higher than 1000 PSI and how high can you go and what does that do to the effiency?
I hate to be a pussy, but after years of having strong hands and hard work the result is I have arthritis in my thumb/wrist joints, how hard is it to pump that little pump?

That $400 regulator was bought new on e-bay for $75 to my door . I have the LPV in my Gargoyle right now and the fill is only 3100 psi . Your rifle will be different for sure . The regulator is heavier than the pump because this regulator will take 10000 psi but because of the price I bought it to use at the range . Total weight about 14 pounds . I have another regulator that I use to regulate my fills that weighs 1/3 as much as this one but the cost is higher . Marvin

So to use that with a scba, you need to have about 700 bucks in rgulator and booster pump.
How much does it weigh with the regulator and the booster?
And is 1500 where you usually shoot your big bore down too? I have not gotten my Ranger yet and was wondering how far I would shoot it down to.

Yes this is a manual pump . The lever after the regulator operates it . The lower the tank pressure is the longer it takes to fill the rifle . If the tank pressure is say 1500 psi and my rifle has a 400 cc tank is at 1500 psi . and I wanted to fill it to 3600 psi . I would have to lift the handle about 8-10 times and it would be filled to 3600 psi . But I would still have about 1300 psi in the tank . 3-5 minutes Marvin
Do you have to manually work that valve to operate that pump? How long does it take you to fill your gun?
Right now on my tank yoke I have a tee . One hose goes to the nipple on the regulator to drive the pump at a regulated 100 psi . The other hose goes to the in put side of the booster on the left front nipple . The the rifle fill hose is connected to the coupler at the valve on the back of the pump . No compressor needed . Again were ever you have your tank the pump can be used . No out side power sources is needed other than your tank . Marvin
