A word of caution
Remember, these are high pressure guns! More on this later, I have to get back to work right now.

hay joe is this the case, was it fluted?
who ever built this one please send me a p/m, thanks
I believe it was fluted alu just like FishinRod guessed.
Edit: ShooterJoe even says its ali.
if it was plastic, I believe it would shatter not bend.
Uhmmmm …….Let me doubt
Aluminum …??? This shroud seems plastic. 😯
How crazy people…… 🙄 🙄 🙄
I use 1″ schedule 40 aluminum pipe. Now I see why I chose that 🙂
Glad you are okay.
Hopefully the builder stops using th ethin tube and recalls all that are out there for replacement.
Walter…
I’m building one myself; guess I’ll have to be extra carefull 😯 ❗ ❗
wow , bird caging a air rifle , hope you dont try another one , thats crazy , could have cut ya up . or some one else .
Obviousy the tubbing is way too thin !!!!!!!!!Thats not good ,hope its replaced with alittle thicker stuff..
Good guess, that makes allot of sense. I always wondered how they could flute such a thin material such as a shroud. I guess you cant.
just a guess, the shroud looks to have been fluted. Maybe one of the fluted grooves lined up with an extra thin part of the shroud.
be thankful no body got hurt.

Holy cats! That’ll wake ya up from a deep slumber.
Good to hear no one was injured.
Yeah, but is it quiet? —LoL!!!! Uh,,no, my ears just stopped ringing..
I didn’t post this to trash anyone. The maker acted with integrity, replaced it quickly without cost to me, and was concerned for my well being. What more can you ask for? ….I know, for it not to burst!
It was made from aluminum tube.
No the end was not plugged. I didn’t load 2 pellets. Im not exactly sure what happened. My chrony test showed there were some velocity spikes and at the time I didn’t have a vented bushing.
I would advise everyone who is going to use a shroud to use a vented bushing and vent the frame. This will act as a pressure release for the first chamber of the shroud. My shroud burst in the first chamber.
I found lead dust inside it as well. I guess it is real!
Remember to always wear safety glasses! Shoot straight & have fun!
who made that thing, and was the end cap plugged or something?

Im not sure why it hasnt been stated as to who built it. I would think that would be something important to this forum and its members. If there is a potential problem with a certain style of shroud it should be pointed out and what is being done to correct it.
You cant even mention building a tank or modifying one on these forums without getting a dozen words of caution or being told what a crazy mofo you are for even considering it. I would think a shredding shroud would raise the same flags.
