I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE THOUGHT THAT I WOULD HAVE THIS MANY ISSUES WITH SUCH EXSPENSIVE EQUIPMENT!!!
my cricket had a shroud clipping issue! =1600$
My small air venturi tank got a leak in the knob with in a couple of uses= 300$
Brand new shoebox missing vent knob, and blew the fuse on first start up! = 1200$
Now it seems as if the pump or motor is binding some how because it is really hard to move by hand and apon first switching the shoebox to start the motor just gave an electrcal vibration noise then the fuse blew!
WHAT THE F#€& IS UP WITH THE AIRGUN WORLD! I am really regretting moving from powder to air! I have spent 2100$ more on this one gun then I would have any other powder burner. And atleast with a powder burner you know it is going to shoot.
I have never been more frustrated with a hobby and I have had a lot of hobbies all much cheaper then this hobby and all much more reliable!

I don’t understand the tape / paper trick to check how the pellet leaves the shroud??? is there a video on this? a demonstration?
I had to replace a barrel in my Cricket. After that experience I try to check everything before buying an airgun. This is my checklist:
– the barrel must be visually perfect while looking through the muzzle and using LED light from the loading port. The choke can be visible but it must look perfectly fine and symmetric. You can also use a boroscope if you have one,
– shroud alignment can be checked easily using a tape trick. You just need to stick a piece of paper to the shroud exit and make the edge of the hole visible by pushing the paper against it. Then you shoot and you can see how the pellet left the shroud,
– it is good to chrony the gun to check consistency of the regulator,
– if you can, try to shoot 50 meters group from the bench to check accuracy.
The truth is that the company should also follow this checklist and the life would be easier.
I do not know about you but here in Poland we can return the item back to the seller (must be company, not a private person) without any justification when we bought that remotely. We have 10 days for that if I remember correctly.

My airgun experience is not without trouble either. Going from 177 Benjamin marauder to Vulcan I must say the Vulcan so far has been the least trouble so far. The Mrod was good except it would have to be sighted in every time you pick up up. But physically no problems with it.

Hum, I don’t own a Shoe box compressor but I’ve only heard that the servicing and reliability is very good on it ?
I almost bought one myself, but I didn’t like the set up with a shop compressor added on to it and the fill time.
I waited up and recently bought a Omega SC but I’m no ways telling you that you should get one also..
Everyone has there limit on how high they want to take their hobbies too.

Last week my Cricket Compact 177 cal was producing inconsistent crony numbers after shooting it without problems for a year.
I went in and rebuilt the regulator and all is good once more, an easy fix !

I AM OK with having to do more upkeep but I am not ok with literally everything I have bought that is airgun related has had something wrong with it and or missing something!!!!!! :angrymob:

If you want a high end air rifle that is ready to go out of the box it is best not to stray from the name FX.
Man don’t get me started on how airgun hobby can be frustrating.
Most of which occurred with cheapy Airguns like the Crosmans that gave me the most bad luck.
From a break barrel NP trail to 2 P-Rods that kept me up for weeks trying to get them to shoot straight.
Problem solve only by selling the NP and returning the 2 P-Rods.
The airgun/accessories is a more complicated and delicate gun then a powered burner.
It’s constructed with more parts and is more labor involve in assembly $$, which increase the possibility of something can go wrong in time also.
But ya I think your just in a bad streak of luck and hang in there Chad it should get better.

strongly agree, but as a married with 3 kids and active duty, I would go crazy with no out let. but right now I am going more crazy with my outlet
i totally and strongly agree with both of your opinions ,,, i am also married and have twine,,, all the time busy working ,,,and i don’t have anything and i don’t do anything except my hobby (airgunning) ,,,i also go cray if i ignore this hobby also,,, and i tried Music, sport, drawing ,,,,, so many ,,, the life didn’t let me continue ,,, and finally came back to the first hobby during my childhood (Hunting with slings) but this time i changed to air rifles … thanks God ,,,for helping me this item…
