Q:

About had it with new .25 edgun

out of all the guns I have had this gun is the hardest to shoot it seems to wants to bounce or jump when I shoot it, 700 pellets down the tube . I’ve tried holding the gun light an tight it will shoot 3 or 4 perfect then the next 3 or 4 will go high or go left or right at 50 yards it’s shooting 895 fps . Know way can I take this gun hunting, anybody want to buy it? its two weeks old. Always wanted a edgun now I don’t know what to do with this gun a friend came over and shot it ,he can’t shoot it either he has been shooting pcp guns for year, like me over 20 years .I guess I am just a little aggravated.

I Had the same problem with my .25 long when I first got it. I shot about 400-500 rounds through it and the accuracy issue went away completely. Break in period maybe?

Wow, this is interesting. I have noticed my groups sometimes move around on paper a lot too. For example, I would be able to put 3-5 shots into a ragged hole (rifle benched with bipod and rear sand bag) only to find that the next shot would deviate an inch or two. Pretty disconcerting because I was able to shoot really nice groups consistently with my old .25 Marauder. I’ve always attributed this to user error or ‘me getting used to the gun’ but after 1500 shots, I’ll admit it’s a little frustrating.

With clipping issue, which part of the shroud is it clipping at usually? is it at the last baffle of the shroud?

I seems to have the same issue that Bob is having? up down left right at 50y, quarter size group. Then I remove the shroud, but nothing tell me that it’s clipping. Put it back in 40y dime size bit 1.5 mil over to the right. Just remove the shroud again and marker the last baffle just before the pellet exit. We’ll see what happen it there is any clipping signs.

Also, from factory, I have to use a leather belt and a wrench to remove the shroud, super tight. Now I just hand tight back on.

Bob, you might want to up the fps to 915-920 for 50+ yd shooting (JSB Kings). You’re groups may wander a lot if the gun’s changing temperature.

I had numerous R3M issues, since it was an early release. If you have future issues, you might want to send it to Ernest. When he finished with the R3M (also .25), it was punching 5 shot groups at 40 yds which were 1/4 inch, ctc., using a field pod, not a proper bench.

pump gun back up to 220 bar went outside shot it, it was shooting an inch high turn scope 10 clicks down scope is put on with blue loctite it’s a brand new Hawke 6x24x56.finish the clip out it shot good will have to chronograph gun Monday because I’m working from 7 to 7 the next two days at the power company thanks for the help

Lol give me a few years, I am not there yet with my metal work.

no donny that is what is crazy it started shooting fine

Hard to say Bob, I think it will take more testing to say that it’s the regulator (chrony). After you’ve screwed back the baffle cover, were there any shots that went way off target?

Took cover off market with sharpie went back out shot gun dime size or under at 50 yards what’s going on, could it be regular

definitely sounds like a clipping. If it were the shooter, I’d say the deviation isn’t much but if you’re seeing POI way off mark then either you’re cocked eyed or clipping. It doesn’t take much of a clip either to send these things everywhere.

clean barrel it was dirty, shot 2 clips two or three went okay the rest started climbing and moving around will mark with sharpy now an shoot it thanks for the help will be back in a few minutes

Mark the stock ldc inside the front hole with a sharpie and shoot a few times. Look for streaks.

I will go and clean the barrel now and we’ll see how it shoots if I don’t freeze to death is 34 degrees outside

Clean the barrel, look for clipping. Doesn’t sound at all like a normal Edgun. My pellets start to spiral when the barrel gets dirty.
