Q:

Accuracy problems at high FPE

I have serious accuracy issues pushing kodiaks at almost 80 FPE and I have tried using eunjins at 43.2 grains. Still no luck? Condor 24″ with extreme valve. The shot string is good 14 to 15 shots 20 fps spread.

All is good and snug

I have .tri rail And have tried just about every pellet made. I have a feeling that the fpe claims made and the Accuracy claims are two different settings. Tomorrow I will see if slowing it down makes for better accuracy the eungins. And.Kodak’s were not cracking bit the jsbs were

Bluejay,

He is probably talking about the RL extreme valve, it can be just a stem drop in replacement, mine was. It is ported a bit more, and does increase velocity.

I have never gotten good accuracy with Kodiaks or with EJ’s.

Also not all AF rifles respond to heavier hammers and springs with precise results. It in my opinion results in too much torque and frame flex.

Not all 25’s will shoot Kodiaks accurately, and at 80 FPE you have to be doing clolse to 1100 FPS to get there.

Your at or approaching the speed of sound, that is the barrier that none of us really can exceed and still have accuracy.

EJ’s even tho they may be below the speed of sound don’t group in all rifles, actually they don’t group well in many rifles, it is a quality control problem some say,.

Try Kings at around 900 FPS, you will not be in Powder Burner realms, but your accuracy will improve drastically.

Also your rifle should not need a breakin of several hundred rounds, it is a LW barrel not a crosman.

btw.. i know i haven’t been that active as of late,so im sure there is a lot of stuff im not up to date on.. but, what is and who makes the “extreme valve”???

this is a good place to start

and remember… these things Do Not Like to be held tight or muscled around in any way shape or form! one must use a soft hold 😉

.. also… if she is brand new you may just need to run a shitload of lead to brake the barrel in.. even after a cleaning it will take a bit to get the accuracy back

What’s the FPS? Checked your optics mounts and barrel screws are all tight?
