Air Arms S510 FAC carbine vs BSA R10??? Which is the…
better choice? For me, I like the idea of not having to consider the possibility of Gamo influence on the BSA….
I recall many guys here owning/own Air Arms (I once had a custom super short AA S410..I think it had a 9″ barrel), and I recall nothing but praise.
I love the thumbhole version of the S510 with adjustable butt stock on PA for 1,060.00. I also like the green (hunter) stock version for 100 or so bucks cheaper…but the thumbhole looks primo.
Anyway, I am comparing the R10 to the AA instead of the Super 10 because I didn’t realize the Super 10 has to have the bottle removed each time you refill (in lieu of the AZ bottle mod).

The R10 has the quick fill port so you don’t have to remove the bottle.
Yeah, I like the idea of the power adjuster on the new Side Lever models on the Air Arms…I am thinking real hard…although I might decide to save up for the new Evanix Bullpup once I hear some good info on it. In other words..if I jump on the AA…I’ll never be able to afford the Evanix Bullpup…so If the Bull pup is worth it…I’ll save up. Decisions, decisions…
I would get the aa…..r10 is old there was a time when it competed with the rapids…but today i find th magazine finiky….removing bottle and dryfire is a pita
AA is awesome but not as many shots on full power…turn it down though for plinking and you can get 40-50 shots on a fill even with the carbine
That’s the super 10…I didn’t realize you had to take the bottle off each time you refilled that one…you have to turn the bottle out, then dry fire a number of times to empty out the reg..real pain in the ass…
That is a good deal though for the tank and gun….

AA S410sl FAC with the classic tube.
I could only get two mags thru it before I needed to refill and that was at 29 FPE.
But is was deadly accurate, I once took two starlings out of a tree at 108 yards with 3 shots, the first one took two hits to drop him.
I like my Royale 400 better tho, more shots and more power.

BSA barrel is traditionally known as higher accuracy, but BSA’s breech and trigger area is remain old fashion. In fact, BSA is changing MMC cocking to rear-end bolt action cocking.
On the other hand, Air Arms has the advanced breech and trigger; in addition, Air Arms is changing rear-end bolt-action to side lever-action for easy cocking (less cocking effort). Recently, BSA seems to become under GAMO’s operation and rear to appear major trade shows.
I think the choice may be higher accuracy or advanced breech and trigger.
