Q:

Air-Force air pump failure

My 8 month old pump quit working today. After pumping 1000PSI into the tank it becomes almost impossible to pull the handle back up. Is there a home cure for this problem short of getting a scuba tank? Would silicone spray help the valve start working or just send back for repair? Thanks.

u guys its an easy fix just order an oring repair kit from sun optics and they will also send u derections on how to fix it… it is very easy to do i replace and fix my oring every other month… ive gotten to were i can take the pump apart fix it and put it back together in 10 minutes…. your problem is the oring on the 1st stage piston it has gone bad… that is the cause of the hardness to pull it back up….. and use silicone lube not motor oil like sun optics tells u… it is not good on the pump…. try this its easy..

Send it back for repair.

While it is gone go find a Dive shop that will sell you a used tank. They will also take care of you as far as testing your tank.

Be sure you tell them first you you are not a scuba diver, if you are not, and ask if you need to sign a waiver that the tank will not be used for human consumption.

It will end up being cheaper than the pump cost to begin with.

I got mine for 100 dollars and they charged 5 to fill it, many times if it was to top it off it was free.

Better yet get on the SHoebox list.
