Q:

Airwolf MCT Shot String using H&N Barracuda Match 21.14

This shot string is the first 50 out of a total of 100 shots. I don’t know how to add more lines to to the chart so I might just post shots 51-100 as a second shot string. I haven’t posted group shots on paper because I can’t find scope rings locally that will work height wise. I ordered some from AoA and it’s on the way.

shots 1-50 on high power with an additional 7″ LDC

Wow, this is an expensive gun! Over $2k for an air gun…what have we come to? 😈

You should see some of the 10meter Olympic Anschutz air rifles!

Yeah, I have checked them online, some of them for go up to 6K, but the gun looks awesome. I will buy a few once I hit the lottery, LOL.

Hopefully the very tight ES numbers the Airwolf produces also leads to excellent accuracy. The very tight ES will certainly be awesome for very consistent long range drop. I read where some of the early versions of the Airwolf had shroud movement/occlusion issues leading to pellet contact and wild fliers but that is supposed to be long since solved. It’s certainly an awesome looking rifle with impressive tech inside.

I’m going to send an email about current EDgun availability…

My best group with the EDgun was around 6″ @ 200yds. My best
with the Rapid was 10 shots with 5.6″ group and the MCT has similar ES
and SD results… should definately be a fun time shooting long range…
You can see the destruction before you hear the hit… An 18.1gr pellet
will go right through 1/4″ plywood at that yardage with an FPS of 890 @
the muzzle….

Varminter, you heard of the PAG shrouds? I have one on my standard Air Wolf and I’m definetly sending in my MCT to get one put on. Definetly worth the price. My unshrouded MCT is twice as loud as my Air Wolf – I cant wait to hear how quiet the MCT will be with a shroud on.

Since your a fan of the drive-byes get the Edgun first. It’s a single shot but who cares! It can be used for any application and it is such a great performer. I tried to decide between the two and ended up with both because they are both so awesome but also so different from each other. I still wasn’t able to shoot any paper at any real distance today but will do my best tomorrow. I did get some chrono numbers using JSB Monster 25.4 grain pellets. I’ll enter the numbers and post the results tonight. Accuracy still has to be determined but the consistency was VERY impressive!

Surely putting your hands on them will push you right over the edge… lol

You will be attending the AA classes before long like the rest of us….

They are both necessary. lol I would say EDgun first because it can do it all but the MCT is a definate necessity ASAP after that…. You have no idea how close I came to putting one on the plastic today….

LOL! I hear you. If only Daystate made a bullpup Airwolf MCT that would probably be the only thing I’d need. Power, consistency, and compact. Hmmm… maybe I could make my own stock. 😀

The EDgun would have come in handy this afternoon, I just drove around a friends storage lot for about 45 minutes and eliminated 16 pigeons, 2 starlings, and 1 woodpecker from the tops of the light fixtures and a couple of trees. Maneuvering my Talon SS with an 18″ barrel and a 9″ shroud while inside a car is a very slow and careful thing. It hits hard and accurately (31.5 fpe with 21.1gr Kodiaks) but it’s just too darn long for easy shooting from inside a car. 😛

I probably will try an EDGun first; it’s $800 or so cheaper than the Airwolf, still does a fine job and will have the “portability” the Airwolf won’t.

Still waiting for Bobby’s side-by-side comparison. I’m only about 35-40 miles south of him down by Lodi, maybe he’ll be generous and I can check them out first hand. (one can hope, right?)

Very interested to see these results… While I shoot long distance powder burners and USPSA competition handgun stuff I’ve only recently got into the PCP thing. A buddy and I purchased 2 tuned Talons from Tony that arrived about a month ago and now I’m hooked. Just as much fun as my powder burners and I can use them the backyard whenever I want… the squirrels and birds don’t like it much. 😀

While I like the Talon I’m kicking around the idea of either an EDgun or an Airwolf MCT as my next purchase. I like the EDgun for the form factor & compact size when it comes to blasting varmints out the window of the truck while driving around in the orchard but I like the MCT from both a design standpoint and also the fact it’s a mag-fed repeater.

As you have both your opinion will carry some weight… so I’ll await your comparison.
