Q:

Aluminum Tank Disc

The stock tank disc is a poor excuse for support for the shoulder piece. I decided I would make an aluminum disc replacement with a threaded insert to mount the Wokbutt or stock shoulder piece to.

THis is a tough 1/4″ thick piece of aluminum I made and it looks to be the answer for the cheesy plastic one.

For those who do not know this Disc is sandwiched in between the butt of the tank and the rubber cover. Then the shoulder piece is bolted to it.

Check it out.

I have epoxied stuff to tanks.
The tanks expand and contract when filled and emptied.
The epoxy eventualy debonded.

Next time, I will try bonding with silicone rubber.
It will stay flexable, and maybe not debond when the tank expands and contracts.

2 screws sounds good, however, the initial set up has to be spot on.

What I would do is sand off the powder coat on the bottom of the tank and then use JB WELD to secure it to the tank forever.

It will work without gluing it on though as well.

I turn the disc down from aluminum plate and then drill and tap the disc then mount.

Not really sure if people want it or what they would be willing to pay for one.

Be better with 2 holes 😈 😆

I would take one. 😉

Do you have a drill? You can customize it any way you want

Me and a drill! You R U Nutz?! 😆

Wok-
just send me one 😯 😯 😯 😯
Actually I was thinking of getting one of my tanks Rhino lined, I have yet talked to the guy, he is a couple blocks away and hurting bad business wise.
I will go down there and talk to him, I’m sure he would do a good deal.
With the Rhino line shit, that alone would glue the disk down rock steady.
That shit is knarley, I had him do the entire tub of my CJ-7, like a 1/4″ thick.
