Q:

Another P12 @ Home

Ok she is in! She is looking pretty good folks! I can say this for now that she is fairly quite after taking a few shots out the door and she is pretty light weight with the skeleton body and easy in the hands.

I have taken a few very poor images with my phone… sorry the wife has hidden the camera (mis-placed it that is 😆 )

spare parts and tools

40yd 938fps 21.12gn pellet (I believe this may have been shot prior to the regulator installed she may be shooting to hot when I switch to JSBs but I will see shortly)

More to come from me and everyone else I mean the 19 others….

Nice shooting with the 20mph wind gusts. I know first hand how frustrating it can be to try to shoot a group in gusting wind .

As far as performance goes can’t say im surprised, not terrible but not game changing either. It is about what it should be for it’s price point. I personally believe that in this world nothing lives up to it’s own hype, be it cars, tech, or guns. This (I think) is a perfect example of that theory, cheers….

If the wind was gusting then conditions were not ideal but man those groups do not look good considering they are only 3 shots @ 50 yds. I am also not impressed with the shot string unless i did not read it correctly and it does not have a reg. But 37 shots with an es of 31 fps seems like a very low shot count and high es for a gun with a reg or am i wrong?

quote Reaper0d:

i cannot make heads or tails from the 50Y groups there ronin, im confused.

are you trying to hit the bull by doping for wind or are you aiming for the same bull and letting the pellets land wherever they land?

when shooting groups for testing you should aim for the same spot for each group (different target each group though) and let the wind do its thing and land the pellet instead of trying to compensate for the wind. you get more consistent shots on paper by doing that way.

from what i see there i am less then impressed with the performance of the rifle and am scratching my head to figure out whats going on with the accuracy whether it be shooter or rifle.

LOL Well as I said I was a “novice shooter” Anywho,,,, I shot the same way for groups 2-9 with a hold over 1/2 mil dot to the left to keep things consistant and keep it on paper.

quote synopsys:

Are the 50 yard targets 20mm in diameter?

Yes the outer ring is 20mm the inner most is 5mm

very nice yard.

I can see you got some very small groups. P12 has some potentials.

Thanks for sharing

OK I finished my 10 groups of three (3) shot each…. (I want to state that this is an UNTUNED GUN with a SLIGHT LEAK and SHOOTING IN REAL WORLD CONDITIONS)

With that said at my shooting location I may have some weird drafts due to the topography of my yard the first length is 35-40 yds more less flat

but then I have a large drainage area thats about 6-8ft deep, 10-15yds wide and 60yds long with the target on the other side of the ditch to giving me a 50yds more less straight shot. Will it play a factor possibly….

15-20mph wind gusts…. Well after the 1st group I did start using half a mil dot to the left for groups 2-9 (due to wind or my poor sight-in at 25yds.)

—— (WINGMANS shot string) So here it goes.. Both rifles were 200 bar fills shot down to 120 bar: Keep in mind the massive breech leaks..

The .22 cal was first.. I shot 18.13gr EDgun match pellets with the head size of 5.54mm (JSB 18.13gr) a total of 45 shots taken:

200bar 929 931 930 930 932 924 930 927 926 935 927 925 931 931 936 934 936 941 931 933 937 929 932 934 934 931 928 927 923 929 922 919 917 915 910 910 905 902 901 898 891 120bar 890 885 881 871 ——-

Ok this shot string is only reading 37 but I shot off a couple prior and then I loaded two pellets which that shot was deleted from the string.
started @ 210/220 bars ended shot at 120 bars

Note: I have a slight slow leak somewhere loosing maybe 50-100 bars in a two-three day time frame.

The target I am using metric
outer circle 20mm
2nd 10mm
inner 5mm

I was getting some fliers about every 5-6 shots. Now, was it the gun or pellet not sure but they were always within the 20mm circle.

Well that was my tester at 25yds next up is 50yds I will attempt to complete 10 three (3) shot group or 8 four (4) shot groups at the 50yd.
Note: I am a Novice shooter so I will do my best… 😳

10shot string w/ JSB 18.1gn

Now it is not shooting HOT so the Regulator must have been installed after Mrodair did their test shot at 40yrds. I only recorded that one (1) 10 shot string as I did attempted to adjust the HST to get it closer 880-900 fps but I ran out of adjustment hitting 876. I guess I can change the reg or add one of the heavier springs. Not sure…

Oh yeah one more thing… the rail system

I have a Burris AR-PEPR Tactical Riflescope QD mount and it will not attach. Picatinny guide on the underside of the Burris mount does not fit inbetween the P12 rail grooves. I have not measured but I believe the P12 may be a Weaver rail not a Picatinny. If I can find my calipers I can confirm that.

I have the same mount and it fits on all my Picatinny rails so if it wont fit odds are the rail grooves weren’t done to mil-spec or its probably a weaver rail (narrower grooves).

Yep, sounds like weaver grooves.

The milspec picatinny grooves should be 0.206″ +/-0.008″ and slot center to center should be 0.394″

Weaver groove are 0.180″ and the center to center spacing can vary.

Perhaps you could get weaver replacement bolts for thew rail?

On hold with my P12… had a lill accident with my scope. 😳

I did some tinkering with mine today…. came in shooting around 860 – 870.

Im only able to get it to shoot about 885 consistent.

I haven’t touched the regulator. It will shoot in the 870 very good one after another. but if i wait 20 seconds. it jumps right to 885. wait 20 seconds 885. and so on and so on.

I think the i need to adjust the flow to let it fill a little quicker .

It does seem to love to go through air.

Details , details. Minor stuff lets others be forewarned.
Only so much HST can be added before you need to add more reg pressure, due to plenum volume.
