any slingshot shooters here?
I am having lotsa fun lately with my plingshot and some 36 cal roundballs
i am pretty good at blasting beercans at out to 25 yards now
anyone else shoot them?
what kind do you have?
in ny it is illegal to own onw with a wrist support so i have a standard one with powerbands and one with flatbands
and i just orderd another one

I put it together using my old folding falcon frame, it pulls up in the 50# range i would say.
It’s not easy to pull, i need to get my 50# recurve out and compare it. and see what fps it will shoot an arrow.
I was going to try 3 bands a side but you would not be able to pull it without a release, and the sling frame would not be heavy enought. I may put together a frame out of 3/8″ rebar and try 3 bands a side a see what it will do.

i went to wally world and bought their cheap carbon arrows the ones for a 40-50 lb draw
i cut them to 27 inches and put on these heads in 85 grains

plus i also have a 60lb pull band ordered instead of the 40 he sends with it
should be a nice combo for some good power
Well i tried two bands and it works pretty good,
shoots .177 BBs 212 fps. , hard jto pull because there is nothing to get a hold of,
it shot the 500grain arrow using fingers in the 145 to 150 fps range,
then i put a string and d loop on it to use a release and it shot in the 160’s with 167 being the highest
have a video of a shot but it will not load on photo bucket, will keep trying

So HFX with 600gr’sh total 30″ aluminum shaft and broad head went 5 inches deep into a crossbow foam block at 10 yards!!! The 22″ carbon 500gr’ish total went in 3.5″. On his site he recommends a 27″ 245 arrow. So I will try something lighter and longer. The aluminum one had a funny trajectory but the carbon one flew pretty nice! Plus I have short arms so a long armed fellow could get more power. Pretty accurate. With practice I think Chief AJ has a winner! Definitely gonna get some bearings to see how good accuracy can be. Love the flip up arrow guide!

Found my folding Falcon frame, and went to Home Depot and bought some rubber , these are 3/8” , and allot heavier than the other wrist rocket, so this could get interesting.was thinking of trying to double or even triple each side, what do you guys think.

The one i did the test with is one that i bought for my son, and i always thought that it didnt shoot as hard as the one that i had when i was younger.
Gonna find the frame , i know the rubbers are probly gone so i can go find some new rubber , and try it on that one .

43 years ago I was a kid in Bend Oregon, newly married to my pregnant 16 year old girlfriend.
And I had a Wristrocket, I would shoot dogs and cats that came by with marbles. Acrossed the street was a street light with a fiberglass cover. A freind showed me that if I shot it, the cover would protect it and the marbles would bounce off with considerable force.
It was great fun until I shot it one afternoon and got the predictable ricochet, but the damn thing went thru the neighbors picture window!
The neighbor was reading a newspaper at the time and the errant marble passed inches from his nose, and hit his lathe wall and disintergrated.
He was calling the cops just about the time the wife and I were leaving the driveway in my 62 Chevy to hide the Wristrocket as far as I could, which meant the barn at the ranch I grew up on 20 miles away.
The cops determined that he had been shot at with a firearm and even tho they could not find the bullet in the wall, they did find glass that the bullet had carried into the hole in the wall.

The neighbor went around wondering who he had pissed off, his wife probably wondered who he was screwing, and I retrieved the wrist rocket and started frying my marbles. This meant I heated them on the electric stove and then dumped the hot marbles in cold water, most survived, but were fractured and when they hit almost anything solid, they shattered, no more ricochets.
At the time a medium sized dog would be knocked down by the force of that slingshot, but of course would regain his feet and yelp away with the lasting knowledge that he had shit in the wrong yard.
