Q:

Anyone own a shotgun?

Thinking of getting 12 gauge for clays, hunting, and home protect.

Anyone have a shotgun? If so, which one, how much was it? What do you like or hate about it? Which model would you prefer to have?

I’ve fired bean bag rounds out of a Remington 870. They are accurate out to about 30 yards, after that their flight path can be quite irregular. They won’t cycle in most semi-auto shotguns do to their lower pressure, so I couldn’t use them in the H&K without manually cycling the action. H&K (Benelli) actions really need full power rounds to cycle flawlessly. Less than lethal rounds are best used in a dedicated firearm, that way there will be no “Oops, I thought that was a bean bag!” when you actually fire off some buck shot or a slug.

Lou, you ever try the bean bags in yours? they work great in mine. In my area a stray pitbull ran some kids on top of a car and this guy came out and shot the dog with a bean bag 😀 when the cops came, they were cool about it. I would think some places would be not so cool about that but it’s a great round to have around.

Lou that’s a really nice H&K 😀 How many shots can it hold?

It will hold 6 three inch magnum shells (5 in the tube and one in the chamber).

Consider the Saiga 12 if you can find one… A Russian semi-auto built on the time-tested AK-47 gas operating system.

They’re difficult to find these days. A year ago, they went for around $400, now they’re up to around $800. If you see one at a decent price, buy it!

Great thing about them is they can be modded just like an AF.

Here’s a modded Saiga 12 with a folding stock and 10 round clip:

And if you think that’s cool, there’s a company in Illinois making 20 round and even 30 ROUND drum mags for them. 😯

Go here for a freak out. This is the 20 round mag demo in semi- and full-auto mode.

I love my side-by-sides, I know they have their limitations but I like the looks.

is that rig actually legal in cali ?

Pump shotguns can evil features such as pistol grips and folding stocks.

I prefer a traditional stocked semi, Beneli would be nice but I am currently happy with my Rem 1100 and Browning auto-5.

The 1100 is 22″ bbl, 8+1, and I added a Dave’s Metal Works loading gate to speed up the reload, it’s for gun games.
The auto-5 I got at age 18, 28″ bbl and it’s my bird gun.

i dont know what the budget is…but people are talking about x2’s and what not…they are kinda expensive if i remember right one could get 3 mossbergs 500 for that price, and customise each of them !

Nothing puts a smile on one’s face quite like shooting a semi automatic 12 gauge. It opens up an entirely new dimension of fun in clay shooting…

It’s legal Cygnus. The 500 cruiser comes with a rear pistol grip and I added the front one and the folding stock. And it’s a pump shotgun.

I was just browsing the Benelli site and an ad appeared for Stoeger Airguns… looks like a Gamo clone to me and judging from the video they had available, the trigger looks even worse.

is that rig actually legal in cali ? i like it alot and is something i had in mind when i was considering the 500 my self…

the kit i was looking at came with a rifled slug barrel and standart barrel with 3 different chokes…i thought it was a great deal !

theres gotta be used 500 out there too for very cheap money….i dont know what the budget is…but people are talking about x2’s and what not…they are kinda expensive if i remember right one could get 3 mossbergs 500 for that price, and customise each of them !

i was going to get a mossberg 500, with 2 barrels for 250 bucks, but the nice people at immigration had for some reason marked my entry date to the country wrong…so it never happened

but at 250 you should be able to afford one for hunting and one for protection

That was my intentions for getting the long barrel later, but after putting the things I wanted in to this one I did not have the heart to change it.
